    Bath panel, water getting behind...

Yeah I saw that actually, its a bit of a rip off, £20! Also as you say its meant to be used the other way up. If I use it as you say I think water could still seep behind, and I'd rather not silicon it, that was the idea to not use sealant. Also, it doesnt look very nice! But I was considering...

    Bath panel, water getting behind...

It's because we shower in the bath, it has a glass shower door, but some water inevitably gets splashed over and runs down the edge, and then just sits on the top of the panel.

    Bath panel, water getting behind...

I have a painted bath panel, which sits under the rim of my bath and is flush with the edge of the bath, as the instructions said. I just took it off to check the plumbing, and found water was creeping around the bath rim and sitting on top of the bath panel, and leaving a bit of a mess. Also...

Sealing sink on oak worktop issues...

Yeah I bought some oil, I thought it was pre finished but its only got a light coat on But silicon won't stick to oiled wood, thats the issue. I will need to probably sand back very carefully the area where the sink sits on the worktop

Unused BT line, can I move it/remove it?

But its not mains wiring is it, its two tiny cables carrying data, surely no risk? Also, if they have followed wiring conventions, they must be very odd because it changes twice along the line, and doesnt follow any obvious pattern

Unused BT line, can I move it/remove it?

Thanks, good advice. I'll do this. And I have taken photos of all the places where the wires are connected and change colours in junction boxes, so I should be able to get them the right way round. But if by any chance I make a mistake, can it cause any damage if they are the wrong way round...

Unused BT line, can I move it/remove it?

Thanks, but the colours don't matter do they, as long as I have the two wires the right way around? It's served by a pole Also, any ideas about the plastic box outsides I posted a photo of above

Unused BT line, can I move it/remove it?

Thanks, the wire that comes in the house is solid black and green, then changed to orange and striped orange, then at a junction box changes again to blue and striped blue. Any idea why? It's all the same cable right? Just different colours I was thinking of re routing it from outside into the...

Unused BT line, can I move it/remove it?

Hi I am with virgin but have a BT line as I used to be with them. It's quite unsightly the way it comes in by the front door and along the hall and into the kitchen. The kitchen is also an awful place for the router as it doesnt reach the whole house. Ideally it would come in the bedroom like...

Can't find internal fire doors in the right size?

Yeah if you look here : https://www.doorsuperstore.co.uk/product/deanta-internal-oak-bury-glazed-door.html The 3 Deanta doors I looked at, all the oak shaker style ones can have 30mm taken off, and come in 4 sizes to start with. I emailed them and they said : '' Thank you for your enquiry...

Sealing sink on oak worktop issues...

Hi I have just installed my IKEA kitchen with oak veneered worktops. They come pre oiled, but I only just read you are meant to oil them more once installed. I put in my sink with a bead of silicon around the endge and then tightened the sink clips to squash it, and then cut the silicon back...

Do I need fire doors on every room if I have a loft conversion?

Thanks, well currently the doors stops and frames have so many layers of paint on its hard to tell how they are attached, but they certainly feel like they are on very solidly! I think for now I'll just replace all the doors, and then if at some point it turns out I need to get new doorsets to...

Do I need fire doors on every room if I have a loft conversion?

Thanks everyone So as long as I replace like for like or improve then its ok. So for now I think I'll buy fire doors, as the difference in price for FD30 and normal doors isn't huge. Then if at some point in the future I needed to comply with current regs, maybe renting or if I get a dormer...

Do I need fire doors on every room if I have a loft conversion?

Ok, so I can just replace all my doors to FD20/30 and not change all the lining etc. I need to replace the doors anyway. And I don't need self closers, which is good yes I have an escape window in the loft and the current doors have self closers on.

Can't find internal fire doors in the right size?

Hi I need to replace all my internal doors. I was looking at Deanta shaker style fd30 doors. They all come in the same height of 1981mm and a choice of 4 widths. They say 15mm can be taken off each edge. The issue is a few of my doors are between 1901mm and 1920mm meaning I cannot take off...
