Strap boss leaking very slightly, can it be fixed?

Ah good idea. Yes I could actually as I didnt glue the other end yet. But I think the inside has a rim on it, so I dont think I can get to the part where its leaking or anywhere to make a seal. I'll have to look

Strap boss leaking very slightly, can it be fixed?

It's quite expensive that stuff with delivery! Would it be pointless to dab it with solvent glue a few times in that area? It must be the tiniest little gap, as its just a drip every so often. I know, it looks bad! But it's sort of high up, so luckily not something most people would notice I...

Strap boss leaking very slightly, can it be fixed?

I just did my soil stack and to my dismay where the 40mm pipe joins the 110 soil stack with a strap boss, there is a very tiny leak on the underside where the strap boss connects to the 110 pipe. I did scratch up both surfaces and used adequate solvent weld glue, so not sure why this happened...

    Soil stack mistake, any solution?

Thanks yeah I just ordered a 45 polypipe spigot bend in black. Hopefully it will be fine!

    Soil stack mistake, any solution?

Ah, I was searching for conversion bends, also was looking for floplast as I was told not to mix brands. I just ordered some grey floplast ones, but maybe I'll get the black ones you linked to instead

    Soil stack mistake, any solution?

It's strange, and annoying that you can't get them in black! :)

    Soil stack mistake, any solution?

Ah I see, so I would use one of those 135 conversion bends, and then a normal 135 bend connected straight to that, so there is no pipe between? I guess the would give me an extra 20mm clearance maybe? I hope its enough, I'll have to buy some and see Ok I'll use the slower curve 90 bends...

    Soil stack mistake, any solution?

Thanks, but I dont understand what you mean Male and female ends or how that makes a difference. I haven't see these pieces, can you link me to them? Using a 92.5 swept bend horizontally, doesn't that just mean the pipe will then be leaning slightly towards or away from the house? Or is it just...

    Soil stack mistake, any solution?

Hi, I'm doing my soil stack, but having to attach it 13cm away from the house to leave space for external wall insulation which I'm having done in a few months. I thought I was doing well! For the two runs of 40mm waste, I intended to use two 135° bends to get the 40mm pipe closer to the wall...

Garden wall tied into house wall, removal?

Thanks, seems like I don't really need to hack off all the render below the bell cast One other question, I grinded the garden wall and chipped it back flush. But there are bricks below ground level still tied into the wall of the house. Should I keep digging down and try and grind these off...

Moving soil stack 13cm away from house?

Hi, I'm getting external wall insulation done in a couple of months, but need to temporarily attach my new soil pipes/stack, but leaving a 13cm gap for the insulation. My plan was to dig up the underground horizontal, pipe see if it's in ok condition, then cut a bit off or replace it with a...

Garden wall tied into house wall, removal?

Wow, I was away working for the weekend and this thread is out of control!! So there doesn't seem to be much of a consensus about this. I'm not sure what to do, whether I should hack off the render below the bell cast. Should I be able to see at what height the DPC is? The EWI guys said...

Garden wall tied into house wall, removal?

I appreciate everyone's responses, although I'm quite confused now. Why would render 'wick' up damp any more than brickwork? The external wall insulation people said that it's not a bad idea to get off the really loose render but there is no need to get it all off if its stuck remotely well...

Efflorescence on internal wall, how to get rid of it?

Thanks, you said you know the only remedy is to take out the bricks and re build. But then you said to just take of the plaster and use foam board Do you think it's enough to just remove the plaster as someone earlier said and treat the bricks I just don't want to rip my house apart more right...

Efflorescence on internal wall, how to get rid of it?

Sorry I should have been clearer. So down at kneee level there is a hole in the box, about 20cm x 15cm. There is a lever/handle to turn the gas off there. The handle is always on it Is that ok?

Garden wall tied into house wall, removal?

I had to google capillary attraction! So I should just chip off all the render below that line. I can't see why the render makes a difference, does what you described above not happen even if its back to brick?

Garden wall tied into house wall, removal?

I'm actually moving that fence post as the neighbours built it on to my wall, and I'm soon getting external wall insulation done and its in the way. But I didn't realise you should put DPC behind a fence up against a rendered/painted wall. The external wall insulation people said theres no...
