Maybe i have misled the conversation, when the fuse switch is flicked on stairway bathroom and 3 bedroom lights come on. The breaker circuit to each wall switch/ each room is not functioning yet. Entrance hall lights are set up on a breaker circuit and can be switched on and off. Wall sockets...

9 wires are wired in pls c pic and yes i do have a cover.

Forgot to add he did this 'connection' without going back into loft . Not sure if this point is significant or not.

All ends well. Roofer put some felt down. Secured the tiles. I signed his sheet. Job complete. Gave him a tenner to buy himself some lunch. U wont guess what he did nxt. He got back up the ladder , took up a few more tiles heard a bit more banging. Put back tiles . Came dwn, took ladder and...

There are traces of felt but has deteriorated. roofer told me that it is more to keep the heat in than to keep water out. I think i am in old roof category , no felting cos when tiles got dislodged by wind i could see inside roof.

Forgive me for what maybe a stupid question. What is the function of felt in the roof with respect to tiles.?
