    Suspended ceiling unusual framing method

You could use joist hangers, or you could fix some timber to the underside of the rsj using some screws like this to go through the timber and into the flange: https://www.screwfix.com/p/easydrive-phillips-double-countersunk-self-drilling-wing-screws-5-5mm-x-60mm-100-pack/12808 I can’t...

    Suspended ceiling unusual framing method

Some self tapering screws into an RSJ will not affect it’s strength or integrity.

    Tesla sales crash

I’ve got no dog in this fight, but being impressed with how someone goes about doing something is not the same as claiming that they are accurate in what they do. Setting targets are not the same as predicting sales. There should be some correlation, but equally it could just be setting stretch...

    Tesla sales crash

It's only really a problem with going around roundabouts (which our friend Elon doesn't have many of in the US of A) as your hand isn't where the indicators are when it comes to signalling to leave the roundabout. I just adopt the BMW driver approach (I.e. don't bother indicating). :D

    Tesla sales crash

They’ve removed the stalks and put all the controls on the steering wheel instead, including the indicators.

    Tesla sales crash

You get used to it pretty quick to be honest, but you can buy aftermarket stalks if you want it. I didn’t find the performance of the performance model enough of a step up from the long range model to warrant the extra cost/loss of range.

What have you been doing today?

Terrible. I would have expected them to have first class customer service for the premium price you paid…oh wait…

Thanks for all the info. Work has been crazy this past couple of weeks. I’m hoping February is going to be calmer so I can dedicate some time to this research and actually get started.

Third Party Insurance section of your policy/Insurance GENIUS needed!

Hello, I do work in insurance. It terms of Motor insurance it's compulsory to have motor third party insurance under the road traffic act. That would cover circumstances of you causing injury to a third party while using your van. I am a little confused by your post as public liability (aka...

    What have you bought today?

Same car the last one. Annoyingly I had to go to London to collect as my other half wanted the blue one. Drove back to Liverpool, with one 10 minute stop for a charge. Would have made it back without stopping but it was only 65% charged when I collected it…so much for range anxiety...

Who is liable? Load bearing wall demolished accidentally

A Home Buyers survey does not assess the structural condition of your home, you should have requested a structural survey. That would have been one of the three options presented to you (valuation, home buyers or structural survey). Your homebuyer’s survey will have disclaimers enclosed within...

    Poor access in loft (Ed.)

Those are part of the roof structure to prevent lateral movement. They should not be removed.

What have you been doing today?

Sounds like a bit of a nightmare but at least you saw the doctor in time and there’s no further damage. Keep moving but be careful!

    Stock market dealing

That’s correct. But i was talking about the insurers and reinsurers. I imagine the scale of the loss is well beyond the worst-case scenarios they put into their pricing models, so there will be capital outflows (and possibly insolvent insurers/reinsurers) from this.

    Stock market dealing

It all depends how much exposure they had to the disaster. Reinsurers will certainly increase their rates in exposed areas, which will also cause insurers to need to pass on the increases to customers.

I’d be interested to see how insurance and reinsurance stocks hold up following the LA fires. Going to be some large payouts over there.
