    Failed in what way did he put working pressure and gas rate and flue gas analyser readings on the warning label....what make and model of boiler is it. Why didn't he turn heating on to get his readings ? . Turning hot tap on with a cylinder already satisfied would need a good few minutes too...

    the lever to re pressure is the blue one on the right lever it gets turned and pointed towards the back to open and returned to the position in photo to close

    not greatest recording but being open flued and you not knowing the history then you should be getting someone to check it out ASAP before using it again it may possibly be sooted up this can cause weird noises when on and is lethal .     just get apair of pliers onto the red one to turn it you wont damage it That valve is always a lot stiffer than the right hand one . And although you are meant to turn both back off most people just leave the lefthand one on(red) and use the right hand (blue) to fill in future

    power off drop front panel remove cover from back go to terminal strip and remove one of wires (position 1 and 2 with black wires) that goes to external controls make safe then turn your power back on if the ch demands light stays on it is a boiler fault if its no longer on you have an external...

    ah sounds typical of a meter fitter they are scared to leave leaks within tolerance and no reported smell and pass the buck on . He should have put the actual drop on the label Luckily enough it was found but a lot of tiny leaks within the tolerance never are As for the fitting needing nipping...
