Toilet paper won’t flush away ?

Can’t see it being the type of toilet paper used, as it never occurred until the new syphon was fitted. Also, don’t use recycled paper.

Toilet paper won’t flush away ?

A couple of months ago, the Housing Association decided the Toilet Syphon needed to be replaced, apparently due to its age, although the toilet was flushing and operating without issues and had done for years. The syphon was replaced with a water saving variant; although since, the toilet has...

Sorry, thought they were called inserts.... So it’s the valve within the tap. Thanks

Bathroom cold water tap explosive delivery

Tap Valve, is that the insert ? If so, I’ll swap the tap valves over, to see if it rectifies issue on the cold water tap but causes it to occur on the hot tap.

Bathroom cold water tap explosive delivery

Yeah, I thought an air lock of some kind but was confused with it only occurring on the one tap in the bathroom. No cold water tank and the cold water supply is from the main. There’s a Combi boiler in the kitchen.

Bathroom cold water tap explosive delivery

Bathroom basin tap in my elderly Fathers house has started to deliver an explosive burst of water. When first turned on, briefly no water comes out, it splutters, then it delivers a brief burst of cold water; from then on, it will operate normally and does so throughout the day but will...

Cost to replace Astra H rear trailing arm bushes ?

No... no problem with handbrake or anything else.... just thought a few members on here may have recently had such a repair carried out. I’m more than capable of carrying out the repair myself, just don’t won’t to and was attempting to weigh up the potential cost without having to phone around...

Cost to replace Astra H rear trailing arm bushes ?

I never said the axle need to be removed, I said it has to be dropped. Meaning, whilst the axle is supported from beneath and lowered to gain access to the bushes, it’s still actually attached by the dampers on either side and all the brake lines etc remain in place. I would have thought...

Cost to replace Astra H rear trailing arm bushes ?

No... on Astra H, rear axle needs dropping. Once vehicle is off the ground & wheels removed, 6 bolts hold axle in place, 3 either side. Also, bottom damper bolt on either side needs removing so springs can be taken out. Removal of each bolt which pass through the bushes, bolts which are...

Cost to replace Astra H rear trailing arm bushes ?

Yeah, I did search a few dedicated Astra forums but although it’s a common repair, there isn't a lot of recents post, I guess due to age of vehicle. What I did find, were either diagnosis and symptoms of such an issues or DIY How To guides. I couldn’t remember my user name or password to the...

Cost to replace Astra H rear trailing arm bushes ?

Has anyone recently (2021) had new rear trailing arm bushes supplied and fitted to a 2008 Astra H 1.6 SXI (5 door); if so, what did it cost ? At the Dealership or elsewhere but not DIY.

Bathroom extractor Fan.... Should it run continuously when light is On ?

Not a lot I can do about the noise. If there was a risk of fire, especially due to the Grenfell tower block fire, then the HA would probably do something.

Bathroom extractor Fan.... Should it run continuously when light is On ?

No idea, why the neighbour insist on leaving bathroom light on and it’s unlikely they’re using the bathroom for such a length of time, especially at 3am I only actually notice if I awake during the early hours and once noticed, I can hear a continuous hum. My thinking, should the fan...

Bathroom extractor Fan.... Should it run continuously when light is On ?

Yeah, I can even hear the neighbours urinate into the pan, certainly not pleasant. My only concern was the overheating due to length of time the new tenant is leaving the light & fan on. Can hear it whirling/humming during the early hours. Otherwise, I have no say, so a PIR wont be fitted...

Bathroom extractor Fan.... Should it run continuously when light is On ?

I don’t, I just assumed because the fan is fitted into the ceiling, I didn’t give it much thought. I’ve never been into the roof space and don’t intend to. My concern was the risk of fire, due to it overheating after being left on though-out the night.

Bathroom extractor Fan.... Should it run continuously when light is On ?

It’s an Housing Association property and I was shown the new bathroom in the flat above before the flat was let. I’ve not had a new bathroom fitted yet, only the vacant properties have. The fan is fitted into the ceiling and all that’s above that flat is roof space. When the fan is left on...
