    Looped services

Great thanks John for the post Yeah you'd think they would have removed the looped cable when they installed the overhead Nearest neighbour is 5ft away, which is where the cutout is. No other buildings on land. I'm getting the meter box moved to outside next few months, so will ask when...

Remove Purlin... or Keep in place?

Hi, Thanks for the help Yeah it doesn't look like it is worth doing  Looks like I would gain about 66mm if we remove purlin. Best to keep purlin in place then (y)

Hi, looking for any advice would be much appreciated. Currently updating a bungalow / chalet type of house, the upstairs already exists as a living space, but we need to install/upgrade insulation etc (there was only 100mm rockwool there before). It has been suggested to keep purlin in place...

    Power Line in Cavity Wall

Great thanks, I'll try the inspection camera, I can access the cavity near to the incoming cable without drilling, as there are plenty of gaps where they haven't blocked up to match the roof pitch. Any point contacting the DNO? Would it be documented where it is routed? Thanks for the help

    Back box / Chasing

Good point EFL many thanks Yes, definitely we can do what you suggest - cutting some of the chases horizontally on the ground floor makes total sense. On the first floor, sockets would be approx 450mm up from finished floor - So probably stick to vertical chases on all these sockets. Thank...

    Accenta mini G4 query

Hi there, Looking for some help please! I've installed an Accenta mini G4 alarm. With just 2 x PIR sensors (No door contacts on the system). PIR1 (Timed entry/exit) is on zone 1. PIR2 is zone 3 (immediate alarm). It's working great just one trivial issue. PIR1 is facing the Keypad, so when...

    3 Phase to single phase

Thanks for all the posts and information, interesting reading! I will get more information about current setup and will report back on the questions asked. Only suggested single phase installation, as it appears to be alot cheaper, for example 3 phase meter is over £130, where as single phase...

    3 Phase to single phase

Thanks, yes of course this a job for a qualified person, I was just looking for info/advice on the cheapest option I guess. I probably won't use more than 9-10kW at full load as you suggest! There is already a few twin sockets there (Type G), so I assume these sockets are on single phase...
