Running basin and bath waste into unused stack.

So.....I could replace that cast-iron pipe with plastic and connect both wastes into it and fit an AAV at least 200 mm above the highest one? I always assumed aav had to go above the highest point on the run, in this case the basin over flow..... ill be happy if I'm wrong

Running basin and bath waste into unused stack.

My other idea would be to fit an air admittance valve on top of this pipe (cut down to a height below new garage ceiling and then come into the stack with strap on bosses. I know AAV have to be higher than the basin, but would that still apply if the stack is fully visible? Ie NOT boxed in and...

Running basin and bath waste into unused stack.

The current waste stack on my house won't be needed much longer. I'm having a side extension that has a new open vented stack on the gable wall. The toilet waste will be re-routed to the new gable wall and into the new stack. My basin and bath waste currently run into the same existing stack...

    New Water Main advice

Yep. U can use any system u like, but I prefer Hep20. Some prefer John Guest..... both are good. My issue with John Guest stuff is the bore of the inserts is too narrow.

    New Water Main advice

Its not HEP20 pipe..... u just need 28mm barrier pipe. Its all the same. I've used loads of different ones, and I've never found a difference apart from price. Pretty sure most comes from the same place. Check out the SkillBuilder video on YouTube where he visits the place that makes it in...

    New Water Main advice

Suppose its slightly safer (think rodents) if its clipped to joists but don't think it would make much difference. If uts easy enough to clip it, then clip it. If its a ball ache.... I wouldn't. BES.co.uk sell rolls of 28mm. Are u sure your incomer is 35mm and not 32?

    New Water Main (Trench for)

Just had mine signed off by UU. Mine stepped up before entering the house. I ducted it in 110mm pipe and an adjustable bend to step it up, and insulated that section. Signed off no problem at all. U can see the insulation exposed for inspector to see. That insulation runs all the way to back...

    New Water Main advice

28mm PEX is more manageable and probably won't make any difference to flow.... although I prefer HEP20 fittings because the pipe sleeves have a considerably wider bore than JG

    New Water Main advice

I think you would struggle to pull mdpe pipe through anywhere.... its a right pain. Closed cell armaflex is what you should insulate it with. Just had mine signed off by utility company and had to insulate the entire pipe under my floor up until it came through boards into house. I take it u...

    Is this mold or what?

I only ask, because any damage u make to the wall will want repairing and if its wood panels, it'll be impossible without it looking ****. Id wait n see if it gets worse. Draw round the outside in pencil so u can monitor it. If gets worse, youre gonna have to have a look..... but go steady...

    Cutting down weld fittings

I have two 110mm weld waste fittings. I need to cut one down a bit. Is there any difference in the lastic above and below the seem in this pic? If I cut 5 cm off the length and push it into another fitting, some of the shiny plastic will also go into the fitting. Will the weld glue work the...
