    Quick Question re: Garage

Hi folks, I have a radial circuit to the garage. Its on a 16A MCB using a 2.5mm T&E. Currently there are 2x1 gang sockets and 2x2 gand sockets as well as a 3A spur for the combi boiler. I am looking to stack the dryer and the washing machine in the garage and wanted to check if it's OK or do I...

What anchors for 2x4 support timber for joists

My bad sorry.. the ledger board is 25x100 and I am replacing with 50x100 to compensate the gap.. I have looked at Sleeve Anchors or Rawlplug M10 bolts.. just wanted to check what length anchors I should use? 100mm as 50mm would be in wood.

What anchors for 2x4 support timber for joists

Hi folks, I am trying to level my kitchen subfloor which over the time has sunk at one end around 4cm. Upon investigation, it turns out 100x400 support timber for the joists is floating in air (causing it to bounch) and no longer sitting on the honeycomb brickwork. (This must be due to the...

    Self levelling compound question

Think that idea works as long as existing floor doesn't bounce and is solid. You could put down a 4-6mm ply before putting the SLC as it could cracked due to movement between the joints. Once it's all level you can put a 9mm ply to finish it all off

Advice needed for subfloor not leveled.

Thanks JobAndKnock sounds a fair plan.. I will use 18mm plywood over the new leveled 4x2 joists. Can I get away with screwing them? I was under the impression they had to be bolted? So as per your advice, the plan is: 1- life the old T&G boards 2- use 4x2 to level the floor (C24s or C16s?) 3-...

Advice needed for subfloor not leveled.

Hi folks, I'm preparing the kitchen floor for tiling. The floor is not level (been like this since I bought the house) and want to address the floor before tiling but don't want to go overboard unnecessarily. I took the spirit level and drilled some screws on each end to determine how much it...

Thanks, I suspected that too.. it's the cheap ones.. I assume the owner who renovated before I bought the house used the cheap ones. there is no brand on them but they appear to be the £1.14 ones from screwfix.
