Heatslave 20/25 - lockout after low pressure, won't reset

The switch is very "sloppy" like it's not connected to anything internally. Is that right? I press the reset piece, it travels around 6mm but there's no mechanical feeling to it. Correct?

Heatslave 20/25 - lockout after low pressure, won't reset

Folks, I have a 23 year old oil boiler which is like triggers broom. This morning I woke to a cold house. The pressure gauge on the boiler read zero (I had a leaking rad, forgot to refill). How filled and at 1.5bar I've reset the boiler , the blower spins up for a few seconds and it locks...

"Savings" calculation for solar PV with storage batteries?

The unit I have takes care of all of this. Using either a ct or more advanced sensor on the incomer, it will manage its output to try maintain zero grid draw. When battery below threshold or islanding detected, it will stop generating output. While there is no mechanical disconnect, this is...

Earth continuity options through plastic isolator?

What's not clear in the pic is the fence is running in at an angle. Your suggestion puts it in a tighter spot where, in an emergency, someone with a missing left arm would not be able to easily isolate it . I jest but it is in a small space. That wall is not visible from anywhere in the garden...

Earth continuity options through plastic isolator?

Thanks for the info. I am following the conversation. At this point I am both assistant and customer but he was away. We've agreed on the install and I'm building to that. He was here today to see update on weekend progress. The idea that he did not laug at me is positive. :)

    Very help - thanks all.

Earth continuity options through plastic isolator?

Thanks. It is going to be external. I'll get some bronze reducers and do it that way.

Earth continuity options through plastic isolator?

Folks, What options do I have to continue earth through the isolator? Because my compression glad is 20mm and I had to use the threaded 25-20 reducer I cannot access the gland internally. I will have a second swa exiting to the right of this one. Is it OK to keep earth external between the...

Thanks John. I'll fix up the damaged area and get on with life.

    Total rewire or repair?

I spotted it earlier in the garden office and repaired it by pulling new circuits. I left blank 1-gang patress box and covers to periodically stuff with poison. I guess I'll have to do the same here. Budget dictates I patch this one and plan in a rewire soon. Balanced view though - this is 20...

    Total rewire or repair?

Thanks. Definitely mouse. I can see the dead ****er laying there with his dead friends. Not a fire hazard? Not clear in pics but one of the t&e looks like both L/N exposed. Wonder how many others there are

    Total rewire or repair?

Folks, While pulling some new wire through the wall cavity for another project I used a borescope to find my draw tape and found the attached. It's a 120 year old barn, converted around 22 years ago. Is this fixable or do I need a full rewire and would that include everything up to the...

"Savings" calculation for solar PV with storage batteries?

@flameport has pretty much covered off the corrections to original view. My system, using the batteries he mentioned, has cost me around £12k to build. Around £3 of that was "unnecessary" items such has 140m of 16mm swa, timber to buildings carport to house panels etc. I currently pay £393 a...

Will it fall? Critique my design please

Not at all and exactly that. Thing is I don't know what's too easy and therefore too weak. My very first plan a while ago was 4m 300x300 posts. :D Sorry, I incorrectly use screws and coach bolts interchangeably. Yes! Let's call it a carport now :D :D

Will it fall? Critique my design please

I guess I did ask to critique my design and seeing as my shed has no obvious sides to it..... :D Ok, I'll try answer the points. It has no sides to start with. If I get a "complaint" about my solar farm I will slap some sides on and ask "what farm - it's a garage for my lawnmower"...

Will it fall? Critique my design please

Yes, the picture does not show. The panels will be mounted on a rail and allow airflow under. Not seen bifacial panels before. Pretty cool. Unfortunately I've already orded mine

Will it fall? Critique my design please

You're right. I can easily put the diagonals across the back. Will add. I will be adding shiplap down the back as a wall. This will minimise the upward / catching force of the wind but still not ideal. It'll just be a sideways loading.

Will it fall? Critique my design please

Yes, this is why I put the upper "ladder" thing in to try form that triangle. I can't go much lower because I would not fit the tractor in (really, I inherited a 1959 tractor I am restoring :) ) It's currently at 2.4 above ground, I could drop it by 400 but don't think that would make much...
