Exposing DPC for cavity wall insulation

Been asked to do some work for someone as they're having cavity wall insulation work soon. The firm have requested that the DPC needs to be exposed, which is understandable. He wrote this: This is the side of the house Assuming the DPC is directly under the air brick, do they want that...

Tiling a shower over green Knauf plasterboard

No need to tank cement boards, just tape the joins with fiberglass jointing tape (plasterers scrim tape). You can bed this in a thin skim of tile adhesive when tiling

Tiling a shower over green Knauf plasterboard

It will need to be tanked before tiling. Also need to check weight of tiles, usually it would need to be mechanically fixed through the dabs. Should've used cement boards for a dedicated shower cubicle really!

Plastering splits/cracks: after removing chimney breast and installing floor joists

As above, that doesn't look like it's any sort of movement that's caused that, it's because the plaster has dried out way too quickly due to suction levels not being addressed. Coupled with that, looks like it has been put on by someone that's blind.

Does this plumbing quote sound reasonable?

Does seem a bit much. Is that including vat or is there no vat? I would personally charge £250 labour for the job, obviously that's without looking at it, but assuming it's all straight forward with access etc.

Patio build - anything to be aware of? (with pics!)

If you're going to be knocking up for the all the slabbing as well, I would definitely buy a second hand belle mixer off of ebay, then just flog it on when you're done. Trust me, it will be worth it!

    Plastering Quote

As above, that seems like the guy has got too much work on, and just chucked in a ridiculously high price. That's £2800 in total, for 2 fairly standard size rooms. That would be around £600 a piece where I am (Kent), which would be £1200 in total. Let's be over generous and add on another...

    Leaking chimney

That is quite a significant amount of water that is penetrating. Is the stack fairly easily accessible with the use of a ladder/ roof ladder? Being that it is fairly significant, I would say as soon as you had a closer inspection of the stack the cause would be apparent. If it was me that went...
