    You can spend upto about 40 odd quid for a decent papering brush...but you can avoid this expense for now by using a roller sleeve...but one thing you will need to invest in is a good pair of shears...avoid the ones with bright aluminium blades..once they go blunt they are not wirth the epense...

    1...normally about 3-4 days ..til it turns light pink 2 Lining paper is the ideal suface to paper on...if the walls have silk on then definatly line..matt should be ok But if you have two different surfaces where the new plaster is meeting the existng wall you might need to fill and line...

    You wont lose it as such..but you might damage it..if the paint is sound then leave it there.. Then prime the patches undercoat the whole door then gloss But if you strip it all back then id go for primer and 2 gloss.

    The best thing to paint glass fibre with is oil based gloss..no undercoat, its more flexible.

    Try a wood dye instead of varnish..its more natural looking and might blend in with the stain better..then a couple of coats of clear varnish

    Theres no reason why polyurethane should creep as such..creep onto what?

    Try very warm water..moiten a bit of rag and hold it over it for a while to see if it softens the paint films..failing that, meths might work on emulsion.

    I think skimming is a bit harsh.. Rub a small area down first and paint it (with a rooler0 and see how it looks...failing that id go for lining paper too..(still rub down first though)

    Whatever you do DONT BUY RONSEAL DECKING STAIN... IT DOESNT DO WHAT IT SAYS ON THE TIN AND ONLY LASTS A SHORT WHILE!!!! Decking oil is ok..but doesnt last forever.. Im going to do mine again as soon as the rain stops..and im using presrvative stain for decking...so it soaks in.

    Not a good idea to rub down galv as youll take off the coating thats protecting the metal Give it a coat of zinc phosphate primer or multi purpose primer (its the same thing) If you buy 'metal primer' check that its compatable with zinc...this is whatgalvanising solution is made of...
