You can spend upto about 40 odd quid for a decent papering brush...but you can avoid this expense for now by using a roller sleeve...but one thing you will need to invest in is a good pair of shears...avoid the ones with bright aluminium blades..once they go blunt they are not wirth the epense of sharpening and dont sharpen very well..
I use Kai proffesional dressmaking scissors they stay sharp for years and a pair or 8 inch ones cost about 15 quid...one pair I have have stayed sharp for 15 years.
Trimming knives...dont bother with the traditional 'stanley' knife, once the tip of the blade is blunt its knackered...go for snap off blades..metal knives last longer.
A typical papering kit would be..
Paperhanging brush..(or roller sleeve)
Scissors
Tape measure
Straight edge..'walwiz' are ok but you can improvise your own
Pencil
Soft seem roller
Scapel for cutting around curves
9mm Trimming knife with snap off blades
Three spirit levels...12,24,60 inch..preferably with an adjustable bubble
Plumb line
Chalk line (use white chalk not red, yellow or blue those colours stain everything in a 50 mile radius!)
A cheap wind up egg timer for soaking times.
A pack of waterbased artist colours of paint for touching in any small tears on a coloured paper.
