Hi, I had great advice in the building thread about removing a partition wall. I have a plasterer coming tomorrow to skim the new plasterboard and ceiling where the partition was (I tried and know my limitations!!).

I have a couple of questions

1. How long do I have to wait before painting over skimmed plasterboard?

2. I am wall papering one wall which is painted (and now with an area of new skimmed plaster bit) do I really need to use lining paper? The walls are really sound, no bumps etc as the house is fairly new.

3. What preparations do I need for papering the plastered area?

Thanks

1...normally about 3-4 days ..til it turns light pink

2 Lining paper is the ideal suface to paper on...if the walls have silk on then definatly line..matt should be ok

But if you have two different surfaces where the new plaster is meeting the existng wall you might need to fill and line anyway...i would

Bear plaster just needs a coat of size over it first.
