    Replacing basin taps

Try Screwfix but stay away from own brands like Swirl and Morretti, Pegler and Grohe are excellent. http://www.screwfix.com/app/sfd/cat/Watersmith_Taps.jsp;jsessionid=R14HXLLEKTTZCCSTHZOCFFA?ts=42886

Leak from 'ends' of radiator after HW cylinder re-fitting

Yes its a good method Bathstyle, I was shown it by a plumber a few years ago and was amazed how quick and easy he made it. I think you have to have some decent bungs though, I wouldn't trust a cork or anything. I've never tried it but I think it can be done on a sealed system, close aav in...

Leak from 'ends' of radiator after HW cylinder re-fitting

Whats all this talk of draining the system? Get an expandable bung and block off the header tank cold feed outlet at the bottom of the tank, get a 22mm pushfit cap and bung the open vent over the tank. You can open one valve at a time and after a cup full of water comes out it will...

    Shower Tray And Enclosure Waterproofing

Yes seal before and after tiles. I think decent plumbers use a silicone called Dow Corning 731 (7 something anyway) I think anything else gives you mould issues. Not used it myself yet though. :)

    Towel radiator valves

Just a quick question guys, when positioning towel radiator valves when the pipes come out of the floor, are they postioned 'into' the room, or are they tucked under the towel rad so they can't be seen from above for example.

    Can anti-syphon valves be hidden?

Morning doitall I'm not talking about the 110mm AAV's rather the ones that are available on waste traps and the one that come in spigot form and can be used in a tee. Are these valves maintenance free, can they by hidden under floors and forgotton about or do they need to be accesable, I...

    Can anti-syphon valves be hidden?

Yesterday while working on my shower enclosure I noticed the shower trap wasn't the proper trap but one of these with an extension piece and an anti-syphon valve. This will be a slimline shower tray, I take it these aren't meant to be hidden? That said it had been there for about 8-10...

    Tiling onto emulsion

This is my first visit to the tiler's forum, I came here to ask if tiles could be laid on emulsion but I saw this thread. So you're basically saying if it fails the gaffer tape test then get it off and never use PVA. Got it.
