Sucking air into system. Move flow restrictor? Help please?

The gate valve is opened only 1/2 a turn. Flow from boiler round heating loop takes about 20 seconds. With it opened any further, I have pumping over problems. If I DO add the 2 dedicated pipes, I will move the gate valve into the "flow" side. Ian.

Changed an Actuator Valve now no hot water!

Some of you more experienced guys may know the colours. Perhaps the OP hasn't connected the "Live when valve open" return wire......read through his posts, he has a spare wire. Perhaps the valve is opening as it should. Then, when fully opened, it is supplying 240 v down the correct...

Sucking air into system. Move flow restrictor? Help please?

Hi Again. Problem with (sucking?) air in my system. I have a system which WAS gravity hot water, it is now fully pumped. I realise (thanks to this site) that it is piped very badly. Because of the layout of our nicely decorated house, it is impossible to re-plumb correctly. There is a...

    Wiring a bathroom extractor fan.

Hi There. My new bathroom steams up and I'm considering fitting / having an extractor fan fitted. I can do most of the fitting myself but would like to have final wiring done properly by an electrician. There is easy access in the loft for wiring a timed extractor to the lighting circuit...

Hi Again. Water header tank started overflowing today. Stripped ball cock valve. removed (very) dimpled pink washer. The only replacemant I had to hand was a black washer. Fitted it and all working fine. Just been out and bought some pink washers for spares...... Do I do the job...

Bath panel - in a tight gap

I have exactly the same. Accept the fact that you'll have to remove the vanity unit, fit the panel, replace the vanity unit. You KNOW it's the only way. Easier than buggering about in the long run.

Boiler producing air / gas in CH

Water in header tank. Vent over not blocked. Cold feed not blocked. Just checked all those whilst checking loft / pipe insulation during recent weather. The air is not being sucked into the system via the ventover. That was one of my early thoughts. I have easy access to where the fill...

Boiler producing air / gas in CH

Hi Again. I'm having to bleed air out of one of my radiators on a weekly basis. My boiler is not kettling. (It's an old Glowworm) About 30 years old. I'm running a fully pumped sysem wth zone valves for DHW and CH. I've heard that due to deposits in the boiler, bubbles of gas can be...

Blocked vent pipe in open system?

Before cutting the pipe above (A) to replace it, I decided to check if it was blocked by blowing down it. As I did this, I could see the level of water in the header tank go up. Hurrah! Releasing the pressure allowed the water back up the vent pipe in a rush. Bringing with it a...

Blocked vent pipe in open system?

The system is quite old, The reason for placing the valves where they are is due to the fact that it was pumped heating, gravity water originally, with DHW temperature controlled just by the boiler temperature. By having the valves fitted and running the system "properly", gas bills...
