    Wot this?

I moved one of those from front to back garden that was only slightly smaller. I moved it at the "wrong" time of year (around 12 months ago). I did prune it pretty heavily as you can't help but lose roots in the process. It looked lovely this year with all the flowers on. Worst case scenario...

    Selling a garden

Where in Lancashire are you? I'd bite your hand off for some nice free shrubs to be honest. Mainly because my MrsP is champing at the bit to get some in herself!!

    Telephone junction box. Oops.

So over the weekend I was prepping our hall for decorating. We had all sorts of boxes on walls from old phone systems and door bells that no longer work so I thought I might as well remove these prior to sanding and painting the skirting board. That was ll fine. There was also an ancient...

Airbricks blocked with pebbles from dashing

We've just had the pebble dashing on our house replaced. It looks great, but yesterday I noticed that some of the airbricks were full up with the pebbles from the dashing. Is this something I could reasonably expect the dashers to rectify? Or should I just carefully get the bits out myself and...

    Skim over wallpaper

Urgh this doesn't bode well. Had some work done in our house recently and found out the plaster plastered over the wallpaper in the living room. Yet another thing to get them to sort out.

    Which chop saw?

I'm looking to get a basic chop saw - i'll be using it to cut structural timbers to size initially. Only using occasionally. No idea where to look or what to look for. Don't want to spend more than I have to. Any ideas?

Reinforce loft floor and build walls for home office

I'm planning on reinforcing the floor of my loft and building some stud type walls, and adding a Velux at the back of the property so that I can use the space as an office/man-cave. Not sure when I'll be starting, but will post photos and so on when I do. My neighbour is an electrician so...

    total house renovation

Polystyrene tiles are a fire hazard and should be removed the old-fashioned way, so you're doing it right. Just done the job myself and it's a nightmare, but worth it! :)

    Painting new kitchen

I've got a huge tub of paint that's technically a ceiling paint. Would that be adequate for a mist coat and base coat for my walls? Or should I solely use it for the ceiling?

Lawn Help - I've been ripped off!

To be honest it will feel springy whatever you do, from experience. It'll harden up over time. That's one of the reasons you need to avoid going on it for as long as possible :)

    Toilet Cistern not filling properly

Our toilet cistern system is one of those where the pushing the button tightens a wire in a cable to flush the loo. I hope that makes sense - I'm no toilet plumbing expert!! Anyhow, the button to push recently broke and fell out (I need to replace it, but you can still flush by...

Yes or No for adding moss to compost

Not sure I completely agree with that logic. Mother nature happily composts Japanese Knotweed, but the patches just get bigger.
