    Shower Pressure question

Just fitted a salamander CT75 pump to a new shower, one of those antique types with an 8" rose and separate hand held flexi head) I have 400 lts water storage in the loft with approx. 600mm head over the shower rose. When I turn the shower on nothing happens however if I lower the separate...

Whirlpool Easytronic Freezer relay clicking problem

Bit of a thread hijack.........I've exactly the same problem with my Whirpool Electronic Freeze, it went away briefly when I defrosted it a few weeks ago but it has now returned and has resulted in me having to move the freezer from the kitchen to the garage as it's so noisy. The Scottish...

    Which Oil Boiler....?

Just realised that I actually have 15 rads running of it but they all seem to get hot and the house warms up nicely after about an hour. The boiler heat is from the flue which then extends up through an insulated 25ft stainless steel 'chimney' on the outside of the house. It's a bit of an...

    Which Oil Boiler....?

well I have a coal fire and am due to install a multi-fuel stove too (although more for aesthetics to keep the Mrs happy), am I perhaps better sticking with my current boiler until it expires ?

    Which Oil Boiler....?

heat loss from the home is quite high as it is solid wall construction and insulating internally is not an option until I can source original features such as coving. The loft is well insulated @ 250mm. So a larger boiler looks like it's required but I am stuck with oil as there's no mains...

    Which Oil Boiler....?

to replace an Worcester Danesmoor 12/14 boiler. The boiler is in good working order but is in a cupboard in the middle of the house and kicks out so much heat that I presume it's running quite inefficiently and therefore costing me quite a bit in fuel (approx 3500 ltrs/year) The new boiler...

    condemned boiler

Looks like the general concensus is that the price is fair :) The guys were recommended and seem very genuine so I'll give them the go ahead rather than shop around and possibly waste others time coming out to quote. I only wanted to make sure I wasn't getting ripped off as I've no idea...

    condemned boiler

Fair enough, just sounded a lot for labour when you see boiler prices around the £600-£650 mark

    condemned boiler

Just had a landlords inspection done on a new property and they've condemed the Vulcan Verona back boiler. Although not thrilled at the prospect of paying for a new one I accept that it needs doing. They told me that I cannot even replace with a like-4-like boiler as no-one makes them and all...

Just bought a house to rent out and the 8.5KW shower is wired directly to an RCD next to an old type fuse board rather than via a pull cord, is this legal ?

which tank to take feed for pumped shower

I currently have a 100 ltr cold water takn feeding a shower, as I'm fitting a pump I'm joining a 2nd 150ltr tank to give me an overall 250lts. This new tank will be connected via 2 x 22mm tank connectors to the existing one therefore I can contine to use the existing float valve and feed...

    Underfloor heating problem

Fitted Quick Net electric underfloor heating last year, it's suddenly stopped working. Had the multi meter on it and it appears that current is going to it so it's not likely to be the floor stat that's gone. So, what are my options rather than digging up the entire tiled floor, is there any...

    Plastic Pipe Inserts

Running approx. 12 metres of hot and cold 15mm PE-X plastic pipe from a CT75 pump to a shower, is it necessary to fit plastic pipe inserts when using plastic connectors as it isn't mentioned in any of the pump instructions. I'm also a little concerned about reducing the bore and the effect that...

    Trevi Boost

I've just abandoned plans to fit a pumped shower system in favour of a Trevi Boost as it'll be significantly easier to plumb in given my current set-up Does a Trevi Boost Shower need a separate hot water supply or can I just tee into the existing hot pipework. Also, the spec I've seen says...

    Cold Water Loft Tank

The fitting into the hot tank appears to be 15mm, can I run 22mm up to the tank and then use a reducer or do I need to change the tank fitting (which will be a right pain)

    Cold Water Loft Tank

Just in the process of fitting a new pumped shower and whilst isolating the 22mm feed to the pump I noticed that the feed to the hot water cylinder is only 15mm. Should this be changed to 22mm ?

Do I need a negative head pump?

Cheers, that clears that up. Will take a closer look at the cylinder for another return tapping and will also try and locate the pump in the airing cupboard too (even though it may make the spare room a little noisy !!)

Do I need a negative head pump?

Ah, my fault but I didn't explain the current set up which may alter things........ I already have an Aqualiser mixer shower (non pumped) fed off a 22mm cold tank supply and a 22mm hot supply which appears to be tee off from the bath supply in the same room. This is with the cold tank in the...

Do I need a negative head pump?

Excuse my ignorance but what do you mean by a tank connector? My other option is to fit the pump under the bathroom floor as I have a 2 foot gap under it and I could put a suspended shelf in.
