Is this right? (Gap in dry verges) (Ed.)

Great thinking... Looked on Google especially 2 doors down who had their fascias done not long ago and they've done what I'd expect just finished it with some trimmed dry verge just so there's no gap.

Is this right? (Gap in dry verges) (Ed.)

Hi The jobs finished as they left Friday (obviously I've not noticed since) I'm looking at the neighbours who haven't had theirs done (all built the same etc) and some have simular but it looks like the gap isn't as big (will have a proper look when they are out). But I was thinking if the dry...

Is this right? (Gap in dry verges) (Ed.)

Hi guys We've just had all our soffits/fascias/dry verge replaced and today I noticed a gap between the two parts of dry verge as in the picture - firstly is this correct or would you useually have another piece running all the way? My only thoughts is as the water runs down the roof it's going...

Push fit - more like pull off no fit

That was my thoughts come out of the plastic which is already in situ with compression and continue with copper/solder

Push fit - more like pull off no fit

I've read about a million articles on this all with a variety of comments. Would you use any type of compression such as This one And can any insert work? I've always used these These

Push fit - more like pull off no fit

Hi I'm just looking to plumb in our utility washing machine and sink. Cold is great as the historical pipe work is copper happy days I'll just continue with soldering copper. The hot has plastic coming in. I've used JG and various other plastic fittings before that seemed ok. On this job I've...

Fitting utility units - walls slightly out

At least I'm on the right tracks just got some L brackets to attach with. Also If I glued I wouldn't have maintained the gap

EICR Checked now cracked light fitting - am I ok to fix\replace?

Thanks guys - the EICR didn't highlight this or anything so I would have thought that they either didnt see it OR that its been done since possibly by the tenants and now they are unhappy (who knows...) And I completely understand from an insurance perspective that was kinda why I asked, I am...

EICR Checked now cracked light fitting - am I ok to fix\replace?

Hi guys, As the title goes I am renting out my property and had the place checked\signed off with regards to an EICR. The agency has now come back to me after the tenants have moved in and said there is a cracked fitting - I do wonder if the tenants actually did this themselves but anyway. Am I...

Fitting utility units - walls slightly out

Hi guys, First go at fitting some kitchen units so please be kind :) Ive started with a straight line across the back wall at 875mm from the floor and then levelled the units (there are only 2) to this line. From that Ive checked the front bottom and top of the corner unit to the other unit...

Cracks on celing skimmed 2 years ago (ish)

Hi guys I know cracks can happen in relatively new buildings/extensions etc but I was wondering if you can help me with the best way to tidy them please? I've gone through one with a stanley knife and then filled it but it's come back. Attached are some pictures of the type of cracks I'm dealing...

Convert or blank off 2 gang socket.

If it was that important for testing etc then there is nothing stopping me from either blanking off that socket or even cutting a hole in the back of the unit to access the socket if needed.

Convert or blank off 2 gang socket.

Its a tall Howdens larder syle I was thinking the same but the problem is if I notch out the lower right hand side of the unit you will see it. I'm thinking notch for the left and change the lower right for a single socket.

Convert or blank off 2 gang socket.

That means chasing out and filling in which obviously no problem but would prefer a less messy approach

Convert or blank off 2 gang socket.

Hi guys I need to blank off half of a 2 gang socket so I can fit a tall kitchen cabinet in. I was wondering what would be the best approach as I still need to have a single socket for the fridge freezer. You can see in the picture where the cabinet gets to (typical its right down the middle)...

Changing door which leads into garage

So this is where I'm at so far. As you can see there is about a 20mm gap on the wall side which is the side that will hold the door. If I run a level up either side it's level at a 76.3mm gap running through. See square is pretty good so is there anything I'm missing before I pack and screw it...

Changing door which leads into garage

Cool. Will attack this tomorrow bought a length of wood to cut up and make some packers. Would I be wise to go down the fireproof expanding foam route once it's all packed and in situ?
