Pushfit stop end on heating circuit

Yup, had no problems with them. You can get copper ones, but still use rubber 'o' rings... My whole water and heating is plastic (oldest fitting is 12years) Any plastic fittings should be more than 1m from the boiler. As they are stop ends, hot water will not be flowing through them...

    Flush Illuminated Bathroom Mirror

The L.E.D. ones don't really provide much in the way of useful light, from the ones that I've seen. I couldn't find a flush mount light up mirror I fitted a mirror that had two fluorescent tubes in. It was wasn't meant for flush fitting but the wall behind was batten and board, so there...

Gas cookers- what makes to avoid.

My AEG hob is 15 years old and the only reason I'm changing it is to remodel the kitchen with a range. The Bosch oven was changed at 12years

Spur - best way to connect to supply socket

You can take a spur from the ring by way of a junction box. Not being able to terminate three conductors in the back of a socket is usually that they are not stripped long enough and/or the existing two are buckled from the previous termination. Freshly strip them, and try again

Spur - best way to connect to supply socket

No reason why three 2.5mm conductors should not fit into one terminal hole and be retained. Remove the grub screw from the terminal (don't lose it), make sure the cables are stripped long enough so that they hit the back of the hole (but there is still sufficient insulation where it comes past...

    Multiple 2way switching

QUICK REPLY ! Ah yes, conduit and "singles" That's gotta be better than six 4cores ! 6x4core = 24 conductors and 6xthick outer sheathing. 6x3singles + 1 earth = 19 conductors and conduit. As for the "alternative", any chance of a schematic ? Thanks

    Multiple 2way switching

Working out the kitchen lights, I'll have 6 lighting zones. Probably look to use the MK grid system for 6 switches. I was looking to extend the switching capability to the other side of the kitchen near the back door. As is usual a 4core cable between the individual switches would suffice...

Any recommendations for LED downlights in a reception

From experience; 2400K quite yellow-ish good for living room 2700K seems about right for my kitchen (whiter than i thought they would be - see above link) 4000K very white then upwards to blue-ish to purple - then ultra-violet  The colour temperature is a better indication of...

Any recommendations for LED downlights in a reception

Both led and Compact fluorescent have moved on and you can get different colour temperatures (2400K yellowish I'd use gu10 fittings as you can always change the bulbs to Halogen/led/cfl if necessary as they all come in GU10 fittings. You just have to make sure they are open back or...
