The discs were playable. Then they weren't. I bought a new dvd player and that also didn't work, although a few other unplayable dvds were playable on the new player.

Nope. It opens but the disc shows as blank.

Thanks for your replies. My trouble is though I can't make a copy because it isn't being recognised. Sadly it loks like the discs are duff.

I keep getting more and more unreadable dvd discs. These are tv programmes that I've recorded but no longer play. They look clean with no scratches so I'm puzzled why they can't be read. I thought it maybe the dvd player conking out so I bought a new one and still the same problem. Any ideas...

Let me know how you get on - would be interesting to hear the outcome. It was the that wasn't working. Engineer fitted new fan but the PCB wasn't working so he replaced PCB. All working fine now. Thanks for your responses though.

Thanks for your advice. It does say to reset turn fully anti clockwise but turning anticlockwise is only a small turn. Not sure if that's fully. Is there a problem with the pressure as well as it's now 2.5? Also how much do think it would cost to repair?
