Could someone tell me what this is called?

Hi guys, I went to B&Q and got a couple of things I thought might work One was a short pipe with a 1/2" swivel nut at one end and a nut with an olive at the other, which I think is to join to copper pipe? Strangely, the swivel end seems to fit exactly at first but after half a turn it...

Could someone tell me what this is called?

Ah great, barbed swivel elbow seems to be the name. At least i can search for it now. Pretty sure it's 1/2" but I'll take it out again tomorrow and measure it. Thanks guys.

Could someone tell me what this is called?

So, Better Bathrooms where I bought it, went bust and the company that took over have no records of the shower. I can't track down the manufacturer. I have a very brief installation guide but that's it. Someone at Shower Doc is trying to find it but if that doesn't work is there anything else...

Could someone tell me what this is called?

Yeah it looks like you can squeeze those plastic arms together and it'd all come apart but they didn't seem to budge. I wonder if it's a cheapo one way thing, built to be assembled but not disassembled

Could someone tell me what this is called?

Thank oyu! I've give that a try. Wow. I was so pleased when I found the problem just thought it'd be a simple pipe to metal thread joining thing. I'm so surprised it's not a standard thing. Thanks again :)

Could someone tell me what this is called?

Sorry how do you mean? The nut screws to a metal thread. That join doesn't seem to leak. I could be assuming too much here for someone who knows nothing about plumbing but it really looks like this component is faulty. water comes out quite freely between the nut bit and the rest of it. I...

Could someone tell me what this is called?

Sorry, I meant the washer you can see is after the leak. But it's definitely leaking where the nut meets the rest of the plastic fitting. Inside the nut is all sealed except the hole going into the fitting bit. If this washer was worn I can only think it'd leak 'forwards' , where the nut...

Could someone tell me what this is called?

Here's it on it's own: The nut cannot be removed from the fitting. Looks like there's an internal black washer as well as the main one that I removed. Hard to see what's going on, it's not assimple as I thought. The other end of the pipe in my first picture joins a similar fitting but...

Could someone tell me what this is called?

Could someone tell me what this is called?

Thanks for your help by the way. Can I replace with a component or 2 designed to join a pipe to a metal thread?

Could someone tell me what this is called?

The jubilee clip join is ok. The leak is coming from between the plastic nut and the fitting. When it's screwed on to the metal thread the water comes out the back There is a rubber washer in there, maybe I should replace that? I thought perhaps the plastic had cracked as it's so much water...

Could someone tell me what this is called?

Hi there, I've finally tracked down the leak in my shower, it's this: It's an interanl component to my shower panel connecting a pipe to the shower head section. I've tightened it but water still comes out from between the 2 plastic sections. I wondered what it's called so hopefully I can...

    Leaking shower

Thanks for your help on this. I'll take further pics and post them. The shower panel has been sealed to the wall so I'd have to break that to check behind. But not a biggy I guess. Yeah, I'll post further pics and see what you guys think first. thanks

    Leaking shower

Hi there, Our old bathroom leaked in lots of places and caused damage in the kitchen below. The shower is above the extractor hood and leaks broke it a few years ago. The kitchen ceiling also needs to be replastered. We got a new bathroom in 2018 and although it's way better the shower still...

    How to fit this light?

Yeah sorry I meant the switched live. The 3 red cables that are connected in the current rose. Anyway, obviously I'll connect it in the same fashion after taking a close up photo. My question was more about how to attach the new light and whether I can push the cables into the roof cavity...

    How to fit this light?

Hi folks, We have a new ceiling light with this fitting: We have what looks like a standard ceiling rose: It looks like we need to remove the ceiling rose and attach the new fitting directly to the ceiling. I guess this is ok? But we'll have to connect the neutrals with a new connector...

How to remove a kitchen cabinet base

Sorry for the late replay... It's a 'built under' double oven as opposed to a 'built in'. It needs 720mm height gap. I think my current gap is about 670mm. Thanks for the suggestions.

How to remove a kitchen cabinet base

Yes sorry, the base. It was flat packed from ikea. The sides are screwed to the adjacent cabinets. Also they're not bearing any weight. I thought I'd remove it and build a frame on the ground or get legs to support either it or a new piece of wood at a lower level. Sounds like I'll have to...
