Hi folks,

We have a new ceiling light with this fitting:

We have what looks like a standard ceiling rose:

It looks like we need to remove the ceiling rose and attach the new fitting directly to the ceiling. I guess this is ok? But we'll have to connect the neutrals with a new connector. Is there something in particular I should use for this? And what should I do with all the wires can I just push them in to the ceiling cavity?

Thanks

Yeah sorry I meant the switched live. The 3 red cables that are connected in the current rose.

Anyway, obviously I'll connect it in the same fashion after taking a close up photo.

My question was more about how to attach the new light and whether I can push the cables into the roof cavity.

Thanks

Just one point relating to the link EFLI posted. The diagram shows red/red for the switch cable. In your photo, this is the cable with red sleeve on the black conductor (as far as I can see)
