Thanks Nick, We used the single boards. Once the battens were up it was quite a therapeutic job. Just me and radio 4 and I was away :) and only hit my thumb once or twice. Trying to get my OH motivated was the biggest job! We could only worked at the weekends and he would lose interest...

We love our Ikea kitchen :D It's the free standing Varde kitchen and we've had it for 3 years now. It's quite a sturdy design with chunky solid wooden legs and frame. We got around the problem of the pipes behind the sink by setting the unit forward and adding a narrow tiled shelf along...

There is a product called 'silent roar' which are pellets soaked in lion poo and are supposed to repell cats. Might do the trick :wink:

I use a water purifier once a week. Just a capful per butt seems to do the job. They usually sell it near the water diverters.

I think also you start with a small drill bit if your hole needs to be large and work up to the size you want.

As promised an update. The Dremel tile cutting bit worked but I doubt it will have much mileage. It seemed to get more and more blunt as it went along and in the end I resorted to a normal drill for the drill bit cos there wasn't enough power in the dremel :? Made a hell of a noise too...

Dulux Salisbury Stones 3. It's what we have in our kitchen and is a lovely calming creamy, greyish green, quite neutral. It would look lovely with gloss black. However if you look on the Dulux site it looks nothing like the actual colour, maybe it's just my screen calibration :?

We have the slate effect style down in our kitchen and it always fools people :D
