    Shower flow

yes, checked both, they are definately isolation valves. Is it worth removing those and changing them to full bore isolation valves to stop the pulsing?

Pressure too low for eletric shower?

It could also be a faulty shower unit. Get the plumber out, check verything over and if he is happy, then i advise to call out the manufacturers own engineers, if its still under warranty. Triton are normally pretty quick. However be warned, if they find no fault they will usually charge you...

    Shower flow

Hi Have a question, was hoping one of the experts may be able to help. One of my customers has an eletric shower which was installed about a year back. The shower flow does not seem to be "steady" if that makes sense. Its almost as if the shower is "pulsing" as the water comes out. I've...

Is it picking up out there a bit??

i dont do any gas work on my own. Safety comes first and i'm not prepared to risk any lives by tackling anything involving gas UNLESS its under the direct supervision of a Gas Safe engineer which i have done a couple of times over the past few months.

Two RAF Tornadoes ditch in the North Sea

Lets hope the crewe are found safe and sound. However I have to say these planes getting destroyed simply means they cannot be used to kill innocent people abroad, which can only be a good thing. End these corporate/arms manufacturer sponsored wars.

Is it picking up out there a bit??

I started doing plumbing full time about 8 months back and at first it was relatively quite. I'd get a couple of jobs a week, usually radiator installs or bathrooms. But the past 4 months have been hectic, where i am having to turn a lot of work down because i just cannot fit it in. I found...

    Urgent: Gas Cooker Installation Question.

Blooming typical, the guy comes on here with a genuine question, asking for a bit of advice and what does he get? The usual arsey responses from some miserable gas fitters. OK so what if the guy he got was charging very low rates, why does that bother the gas fitters so much? If the man is...

Ferroli F30 Combi boiler not working after draining CH

looks like you have air in the boiler. Simple solution is to remove cover, look for red and black "dial/knob", turn or lift it gentle to dump out a bit of water and air from system, then refill central heating. Give that a try. The guy i'm working with at the moment does this as standard when...

    Garage Tap Install

How many houses is your main supply stop cock controlling? if its only yours, i dont see why you can't turn it off. Another solution is to use a professional pipe freezing kit, not any of the DIY stuff you get. It should give you enough time to cut into the pipe using appropriate pipe slicer...

    removing bedroom sink

Its advise I was given by the gas safe guy i'm working with. Theres less risk of the joint leaking over time as its a soldered joint. Also any potential leaks from a compression fitting under the floors could be costly as the leak may not be immediately noticeable. So better to stay on the safe...

Ferroli Boiler Pressure drops to 0

Not at all. Apparently they got offered some government scheme for boilers and took up the offer from a door to door caller. Had i known at the time, i would have advised them against it. Its precisely people like these that I am aiming to rid the market place off. Since i went it alone in...

also to add to stardannys advise, use soldered joints if its under floorboards, as compression or pushfit joints are not recommended in these areas.

Ferroli Boiler Pressure drops to 0

Its a combi boiler Ferroli optimax 38he. The installers were apparently some random guys from birmingham, couldnt speak any english and do not appear to have registered the boiler! There are no pipes downstairs under concrete. No staining on ceiling indicating any possible leaks. No...

Andex are you gas Safe or simply doing this work as a diy project in your own home? I'm not yet Gas Safe, but will be starting college in September. However trying to get a head start buy purchasing study material like the JTL level 3 book which states to can use Bayonet fitting with hose...

Hi all, got a bit of a query which I cannot figure out and has left me completely stumped. A good mate called me out to have a look at his Ferroli boiler, as the pressure on the guage keeps dropping to zero every few days. It was only fitted about 9 months ago. I've checked all rads, no...
