    the best sliding mitre saw

As BA says, yes it will cut them, but if the corners are not 90deg you may have problems as it only tilts to 45deg and only to one side which again will do it but tilting both ways is better. I have a DW 717XPS and that will do your skirting vertically which is better than having to lay it...

    Bedroom wardrobe manufacturers

Considering the guy wants bespoke custom sizes I don't see it being a problem not having them assembled. If I can make all my wardrobes that you have seen before in flat sheet and assemble on site then there is no reason someone else cant. Paul you would be better off looking for a smaller...

    Wooden work tops cupping

Has the underside been sealed/oiled same as the top, if not you will get cupping as the moisture entering the underside will make it expand and drying will make it contract. Is it over an appliance, should have a vapour barrier above appliances especially dishwashers Steaming the undersid...

    MDF exterior work table

When MR MDF gets wet it will swell by about 75% forget it for external use. Even Exterior MDF (grey core) has to be completely sealed for outside use. J

    Supports for an extractor housing

It was the brackets I was talking about not the main hood. Cut the curve into 4 pieces of MDF, fix one to each side of your 3x2 brackets and then bend a thin 2-4mm MDF strip over the front edge and glue & pin it in place. Once the glue is dry fill, sand and paint.

    Supports for an extractor housing

Make a gallows bracket from say 3x2 studwork or CLS and clad in MDF, fill, sand and paint. If fact you don't really need the diagonal on the gallows bracket as the MDF will act as the brace. Thats how I made this one. J

    help with upstand gaps

If its a square edge worktop then they should just be butted together, as the wood can expand & contract across its width there is a risk of teh short mitred section opening up.

brazing/soldering old brass in PO9 or E11 or nearby

If you were nearer I'd do it. Silver solder would be best as that will fill the cracks as it flows into the joints but Braze will just form a fillet. It is likely that the joint will show as a faint grey line over time as the silver will tarnish. It would not need any form of backing plate the...

    Built in wardrobe help?

No you need a nice big panel saw that can handle the 2800x2070 sheets with a pre scoring blade to eliminate chipping, got to get the cost of these type of machines back somehow. Actually if making carcases you can keep the good edge to the inside of the "box" and any chipping only really...

    How to become rich

Try reading the first line of the opening post  These wardrobes will look good, festive is already asking how to make them on the other current wardrobe thread maybe it is rocket science after all :D J

    Built in wardrobe help?

Well thats why my wardrobes cost £1000 per meter plus, you are paying for someone who knows what they are doing. Of the three pictures only the ones under the sloping ceiling don't have a central support and as they are only about 1600 tall there is not much risk of flexing, 22mm MR...

    help with upstand gaps

Are you sure its not the skirting that is slightly bowed creating the gap? as thats more likely that the worktop dipping though the sink cut out could have weakened it. You may be able to wedge the skirting down while you fix it, put the wedge under the window sill. Also the tops should not...

get a slot cutter for the router and it will be a lot easier than trying to balance the router on the edge of the MDF. http://www.wealdentool.com/acatalog/Standard_Range_63.html For circulation you would really want to vent the plinth and somewhere at the top. J

Fitting a Belfast sink - worktop overlap

Fix them after as the sink AND Granite has to be in place first for the ones in those pics. I make the "shelf" that the sink sits on only as deep as the sink so there is a gap up the back and then have a set of those long tap fixing box spanners which usually reach or can easily be extended...

Fitting a Belfast sink - worktop overlap

Well I suppose it is an undermounted doubel butlers sink and does save water running down onto the doors below, actually it the same model Villeroy & Boch sink in both photos. J

Fitting a Belfast sink - worktop overlap

I would usually set the front face of the sink in line with the front of the doors which would mean the sink is about 10mm from the worktop edge if its an exposed front like this. Though I do prefer to have a wide 650plus worktop and set the sink back like this Jason

    Built in wardrobe help?

As Foxy says re carcases There is a slight risk of the doors cupping if you glue 6mm onto 12mm to get the shaker look. I prefer to do it as shown in this and the next pic

    Built in wardrobe help?

As Foxhole says I would also ,make a plinth then build the wardrobe off of that. Though my method is to make it as a series of carcases (boxes) that can be positioned onto the plinth and either a face frame added or the doors hung straight onto the edge of the carcase like a kitchen cabinet...
