    Connecting 3 stacked railway sleepers

well, they dont really have a use but they will act as a kind of separating wall between my table and chairs on my decking and the grassed area. they are 2.4 metres long, and will be used to kind of prevent anyone from moving chairs backwards and falling off the decking onto the lawn. i...

    Connecting 3 stacked railway sleepers

Hi I am wanting to stack 3 railway sleepers on top of each other. I doubt they would fall due to the weight - but to be safe I want to connect them together. What is the best way of doing this? I'm sure I saw this on a gardening programme some time ago, where some metal dowels were...

    Childrens playhouse on stilts

thanks guys. any advice and photos appreciated. I know i wont get many bikes under it, its mainly for my toddlers toy storage i.e. ride on car, bike (lying flat for storage) - not for adult bikes. I also need to position it next to the border so will check the height regs with planning.

    Fixing fence posts

I've heard a tip from someone that when putting fence posts up, always bang in some galvanised nails into the bottom of the post (coming out of the sides) so that when you pour in the postcrete or concrete and it sets, the nails embed into the concrete. It seems to make sense - but do you guys...

Decking - on concrete base, or directly over the grass?

I am about to create a decked area at the end of my garden around 3metres x 3 metres. I have read a few posts on here that seem to provide different suggestions as to what the best way of doing this is, so have created a new topic to get your answers. My concerns with a decked area are: the...
