Fixing fence posts

I've heard a tip from someone that when putting fence posts up, always bang in some galvanised nails into the bottom of the post (coming out of the sides) so that when you pour in the postcrete or concrete and it sets, the nails embed into the concrete.
It seems to make sense - but do you guys agree or is this a bad technique

good idea to me,when the post shrinks then it shouldnt wobble to much?
 
Get some 6mm metal studding drill then hammer it through. Don't really see the point meself as you are creating an entrypoint for water into the untreated middle of the timber.
