Baumatic over trips fusebox when turned off...sometimes!

That's interesting... the Baumatic customer services lady told me it could be that, but I thought she was just fobbing me off. If that is the case then can it explain why the tripping only happens sometimes? Before I start searching Google, do you have any idea where I can get a replacement...

Baumatic over trips fusebox when turned off...sometimes!

THank you for the reply. Why does it only happen when I turn the oven off? Fusebox doesn't trip at any other time? It's always the main oven only.

Baumatic over trips fusebox when turned off...sometimes!

Hello I've had an intermittent problem for a while now. I've got a baumatic range and the problem is with the main oven (not the other smaller one). Sometimes, and only sometimes, when I turn off the oven, it causes the main fusebox to trip. Resetting the fusebox is not a problem. It's a real...

    Airlock help please

Thank you all for your help and advice. The plumber said he'd call back but didn't for a whole week(!). In the meantime I was planning to get hose and other equipment. And then all of a sudden voila! The 2 rads have started working again today for no apparent reason! The airlock must have...

    Airlock help please

Not sure about the filter. We don't have airing cupboard. Water tanks are in the loft. The boiler is in an outside cupboard. That's where the pump is too. Other than that I don't know of anything else - never seen the plumber fiddle with anything else. Not sure about valves either. Sorry...

Not sure what "F+E" means, but if you mean the tank for the central heating then yes.

    Airlock help please

Thanks for quick replies. The thing is that he knows it's a known problem as he's done work for us a lot over the past 5 yrs. I've been on the phone to him today and he's been getting me to run the various tests. He says it could take anything from minutes to days to sort out (??!!) System...

    Airlock help please

Hello I have an airlock problem with 2 of my rads. This has happened before when the system's been drained but I've always managed to sort it in 24hrs by trial and error. Now it's not working. Problem: - plumber came to move a rad in one room, thus draining the system. - once...

    Loft conversion advice

OK. So I know I want to design a loft conversion. I want to get 2 single bedrooms and 1 bathroom up there with 2 dormer windows to the rear and velux windows at the front. I know where I want the staircase to be. I don't know exactly how much floor space I will have as I don't know how to...

    Loft conversion advice

Hi I'm currently planning a second-storey side extension and have been doing the drawings myself. I've now decided to include a loft conversion with my application. I'm going to use the existing box room as access to the stairs for the loft. Other than that I have no idea re roof structure and...

    drafty loft hatch

Thanks for the reply. Good idea in principle. It may end up being a bodge job as the frame/opening isn't a regular rectangle, it's very wonky. Measures approx 800mm x 600mm. Would it be better to replace the entire frame and door? I looked on screwfix but the dimensions are too small. Any ideas?

    drafty loft hatch

Hello My problem is that my loft hatch is very drafty. The hatch door does not fit snugly in the frame - there are huge gaps around 2 sides of the door. Hence the upstairs landing gets very cold. Details of loft hatch: Door opens swinging downwards. Pull-down ladder comes down from the...

    Dripping central heating overflow

Thanks for that - very helpful. Another basic question for you: is it actually inside the tank, and if so is the tank easy enough to open? Will it be easy enough for me to do it all myself or get someone in? Like I said, I'm not the best DIYer!

    Dripping central heating overflow

The pipe that comes out of the loft into the garden is leaking. Where/what is the balltap, and what will it involve?

    Dripping central heating overflow

Hello. I have a problem with a dripping central heating overflow. We recently had a couple of rads taken off and put back on so that we could decorate. Since then the overflow has been leaking. Sometimes it just drips, but sometimes it's pouring out. This happened before and we guessed that...
