    Er, if you tile "under" them a bit then they will push the bottom of the wall units out. Up to the underside would be better. Er, there are some units that have gaps underneath, im sure a man of your vast experience should have come up against this type of design.

    tile behind switches, if poss go under the units a bit, no need to go mental as youll never see it, if you cant go under tile up to. 8)

    you can plaster over, but if its 5-7mm you would need to do a large plaster job. you could get a good scraper from a tile store that is nice and sharp and work through it. no no no no no your doing the correct thing

    i meant flat floors as in not uneven and trust me dude youll just be using loads more adhesive than you need, plus you have the extra chance that the bigger the notch the more likely you will get a tile or 2 unlevel.

    no dude 20mm is overkill for flat floors go for 10-12mm depending what your local store has.
