Rub down the walls with a very rough sandpaper, then tile as normal. It won't take too long at all if you use something like 40 grit sandpaper. Bal White Star is excellent adhesive and is recommended for use around a shower.

if you sand you sand

absolutely no need to do both fella!

thanks jefoss, never done this before. i assume the paint will come off easily

you wont need any primer
If using a cement based adhesive onto plaster you need to use a primer or the two can react and not provide a proper bond. http://www.biscem.co.uk/downloads/Biscem-TilingOntoPlasterAndRender.pdf[/QUOTE]

the waterproof adhesives have a "built in" primer so you dont need to prime. no reaction!

i use weber wr, straight onto plaster never ever had a problem.

what number on this list? if its long i should be right down!

check your pms too ya old g*t
