    Circular Saw Blades

Is it Lawsons, perchance? I understand what you mean about the delivery charge. However, if you look at it from their point of view they have to cover the cost of administering your order as well as putting the item in a packet and paying for it to be posted to you. There's not enough profit...

    old tree

If you want to remove it straight away, hire a stump grinder and grind it down to below ground level. You could also drill holes in it and use a root out preparation to kill the stump, so that it will eventually rot. I'd level the top and leave it in place to make the garden a more...

    Circular Saw Blades

You're quite right: the thickness for the reducing ring should be approximately the thickness of the blade, not the width of the kerf. The clamping nut has to hold the blade securely.

    chimney access from inside

You can get many flue fittings with access doors (usually, screwed on plates) such as this example. Another approach is to build a soot door into the masonry of a chimney.

too late / too early to DIY?

Much depends on the circumstances, and how sensitive your neighbours are to noise. If you are in a terraced or semi-detached house, the noise of scraping off wallpaper will transmit through a party wall. 6.00 am is far too early, especially the neighbour's room is a bedroom. Bear in mind that...

    Which Saw?

Clamp, and the verbal participle clamping, are the terms used in North America; cramp and cramping are the traditional terms used in the UK. However, American usage tends to drive out UK usage and I suspect that is happening with these words. So, no need for you to get out more at all.

I wonder how many TVs will be coming down in the next few years, especially if people are trying to fix them with plasterboard fixings.

    Shelf support pin drilling

Rutlands sell jigs and templates for doing this. However, you could make your own template for much less money. An alternative would be to use bookcase strips: you can buy surface-mounted strips, which don't require a routed slot.
