How would you permanently attach a small shower screen to this bath surround?

foxhole - they aren't made in those dimensions because that size is not commercially viable. Not because it's pointless- how do you know that, in somebody else's home, that precise dimension might not be ideal? Solving a real issue? ineffective -at what? In my case, hugely effective in...

How would you permanently attach a small shower screen to this bath surround?

I'm sorry you feel that way, 'Freddie'. You didn't actually offer advice, in your '8 minutes later' after my OP post, did you? You asked what was obviously a goady, stupid question- what did I mean by 'glass'? I then readily explained that I didn't want to get sidelined- thus get ignored by...

How would you permanently attach a small shower screen to this bath surround?

Freddie- thanks- but I responded an hour and a half ago informing DIYnot in general that I now understood that the 'glass-like substance' (wink) needs to be 6-8mm thick. DIYnot guided me to that understanding. But I am intrigued: why didn't you offer your latest bit of sensible advice (thank...

How would you permanently attach a small shower screen to this bath surround?

I can see the 'glass' (sorry, 'freddiemercurystwin'... still awaiting your reply...? :) Or do you do a signature 'one-off' 'response' to any new post??..) - will have to be 6-8mm thick, now; so I shouldn't need the 'F'channel, but many thanks for linking for me.

How would you permanently attach a small shower screen to this bath surround?

Thanks, Burnerman. I had considered the options there, but sadly there's a very fixed cupboard that just impinges on the 'head height' of a full height shower screen; it would have to be a mini one. Googling 'fitting channel' has also revealed possible sources, too!

How would you permanently attach a small shower screen to this bath surround?

Presumably you can direct me to a company that makes 750x750m radius quarter circle shower screens, then? Or, in the absence of that, shall I -DIY it....? Wish there was a forum....

How would you permanently attach a small shower screen to this bath surround?

OK, I knew if I typed 'safety glass', or laminate glass' or whatever, someone would derail my thread by querying why I was using the wrong sort of glass, that's all. By 'glass' I mean a suitable, approved 3mm thick piece as informed by the professional cutting it for me. That's all.

How would you permanently attach a small shower screen to this bath surround?

I am going to get a piece of 3mm shower screen 'glass' cut to a quarter circle, the width of the end of my bath, permanently attached to the top of the line of tiles and to the side wall to stop the shower water splashing over that end! What type of 'channeling' or whatever you might call it...

What paint to stop stain seepage ...?

Thanks- do you think I need to sand off the 'Once' in order to apply the zinsser, or oil-based undercoat; or can I apply it on top of the Once?

What paint to stop stain seepage ...?

Hi, We've taken off our wall-to-wall stairs carpet (20 year old 'estate' house), and we're replacing it with a carpet runner and stair rods, so the sides of the treads and risers will need glossing where they're now exposed. They've been painted before, but the issue is the old carpet...

What to look for in a tap?! (image included)

Thanks, I will be looking at the £40 ones, then.

Which filler/sealant to fill gap around downlighters?

The ceiling isn't flat. So you can't fit a flat object, the rim around the light, snugly against a curved object, being the ceiling. The photo reveals close contact in the middle, a gap either side. And as stated, I'm not about to re-skim the ceiling to remove the minor visual irritation of...

What to look for in a tap?! (image included)

Wanting to replace like for like as our 2 basin taps taps are 19 years old. I am being careful and at least recognising I must get the right size; the current ones have survived a Megaflo upgrade- but this model costs anything from £8 to £60! What differentiates them? Many thanks.

Which filler/sealant to fill gap around downlighters?

Thanks- never heard of the caulk! But that's what I need.

Which filler/sealant to fill gap around downlighters?

What white filler or sealant would you recommend to tidy up this gap? There are several! The ceiling's painted with white Dulux Light and Space, the light fittings are pushed in as far as they'll go, I just want to buy something in B&Q or similar to run a finger-ful around the rims to tidy...

Can anyone identify this tubular latch please?

Thanks but what neither tell you is the height of the case! I thought I'd found the ideal one, but it transpired to be 510 high, my cut recess is 400mm high so I would've had to have cut out a further cm, burrowing deep into the door! Sure, I could email each company in turn, but you might think...

Can anyone identify this tubular latch please?

Never knew this was going to be so complicated (n) ! I had resigned myself to not being able to find identical replacements, that I need to chisel out the radial forend/face-plate and strike-plate recesses to make them oblong. I now know I need a flat, not tubular mortice. BUT the hole in...

Can anyone identify this tubular latch please?

OK, Fair enough! I didn't know if the screws and the spindle would be enough to stabilise a tubular latch is a mortice-sized hole!

Can anyone identify this tubular latch please?

Presumably I can put a tubular latch into this hole?
