    ok, I understand what you are saying, I'm not trying to fit a valve, its just that I had one that reduced 15mm to 12mm and fitted, so thats why I know 12mm would fit... but unfortunately I have a male connector to fit onto to. (the braided hose from the cistern) I suppose a piece of 12mm copper...

    I added a 12mm nut and it fitted, so assume its 12mm as 10mm was far too small and 15mm far too big. Its a plastic incased system, but I can see a lever isolation valve inside which can be acessed through a 2cm x 2cm viewing square. Any ideas..

    Interesting answer.. may I suggest you re-read my post "pumped electric shower" Its the Mira elite st, which is fed by its own tank, it has nothing to do with the combi as the tank is cold mains fed. Does a mixer tap restrict flow compared to 2 seperate taps on a bath?
