Alarm sounds when mains switched off.

Battery inside the panel is dead, and the bell box is ringing because there is no power going to it when power to the panel is lost. Basically replace the battery inside the panel because it's dead.

How to turn on scantronic 9427

Was going to say the 9427 is the Keypad model number! If you want it to set for the night you may have to program the system if the previous house owner didn't already.

    Yale HSA6400 alarm remote fob

If I were you I'd stick with the genuine product made by Yale, as those are guaranteed to work with your alarm, whereas with using generic cloning fobs don't always work right, or may be dead on arrival in some cases.

Honeywell CP038 - Call Engineer Reset required

I think a total power failure for the system will require an engineer reset, given that it has already asked for an engineer reset for a battery failure. Same thing happens for my Scantronic 9800 (but I then re-programmed it). Back to square one. Getting your hands on a manual will probably help...

Honeywell CP038 - Call Engineer Reset required

Hah, that's great. I guess you'll have to do some reaching out and asking around for some local or independent installer then.

Calling GalaxyGuy... Anyway, no sticker(s) or documentation on the main box?

Honeywell CP038 - Call Engineer Reset required

Ah. Never mind. I'm sure some local installer may know a thing or two about these panels. A couple people here will as well I'm sure. Bear in mind some installers will flatly say "No" to whether they know about your system.

Honeywell CP038 - Call Engineer Reset required

Is there any installer information on the panel, i.e a phone number or company name?

    Alarms... and More Alarms!

If my avatar is anything to go by, I am someone who likes intruder alarms and the like, preferably not-so-old Scantronic equipment (well, I'd willingly get a nice old Scanny 9100 any day). I like my Scantronic alarms, so I got a Scantronic 9800 (issue 11 main board). Now I love the 9800 and the...

    Concept 6 alarm continuous whine!

A Concept 6?! Wow, that's come a long way then! Perhaps disconnecting the control panel from the battery (which is probably dead) and taking the fuse out of the FCU will silence the inside alarm part... then again the bell box outside will probably start ringing if the battery's good in there as...

    Accenta 6 troubles

well, it's not the first time that this has happened to the alarm, but now it has decided to work. Going to play safe and buy a replacement Scantronic 9800+ in case it conks out properly. When its dead, it will have a date with my axe and then it will be binned!

Alarm insecurity - jamming, replaying and brute-forcing on the Yale HSA6400

Cue summary on this page:- Someone comes on talking about a blog post and seminar about radio jammers and their possible affects on some of the wireless alarms that home-owners and Mr. Average Joe have installed. A couple of posts later an argument starts. A bit more guff later and drones crop...

    Accenta 6 troubles

Hi everyone, my Accenta 6 alarm panel has begun to act up once again. The problem I have is that when I start up the panel and enter in the code it denies resetting to day and it carries on in alarm mode. Factory defaulting the NVM didn't work as the same problem cropped up again, this time the...

    Scantronic 9448 help

Afternoon all, I have received a Scantronic 9448 4 zone alarm panel from the early 90s. I have managed to factory default the panel thanks to the manual but, since I don't have a bell box to connect, I am having a tamper issue with the bell tamper output (panel thinks that 0v hold-off line is...
