    setting guttering level

Building an extension, roughly 6m x 5m. What are the opinions of setting a level gutter as opposed to having a slope. I am considering a level gutter for looks really but wondering if that would lead to any problems. If a slope has to be built in is the correct fall 1 in 600? Thanks.

    should eaves trays be overlapped??

Just fitted some to my extension and I overlapped by 100mm. Best advice is to follow the manufacturers instructions. I have seen instructions which say overlap and others say butt up. As I see it, partly why they are used is to keep the underlay out of the gutter, so if they were butted...

    Replacing lead water main

Have you been accepted onto the lead pipe replacement scheme. If so you should have received details of how to run your new supply pipe. Your new supply will have to be inspected unless you use a wiaps plumber who can self certify. 25mm is the norm. your pipe will need to be sleeved and...

    Gas pipe size

Don't get hung up on the 15mm gas valve. If the appliance needs a bigger diameter supply, that's what it needs, it gets reduced just before the inlet. The manufacturers don't supply a choice of different size valves. Andy.
