    Other 'plumber's' Work

Only a small drip when the bath was emptied...the irritating thing is that the perpetrator did not consider the fact that the rigidity of the plastic fitting will have prevented the jubilee clips from having any effect in compressing the fitting onto the pipe in a watertight manner.

    Other 'plumber's' Work

I don't like to make a habit of criticising the work of others, but this one really takes the biscuit:

    underfloor squirrels.

Are you trying to gas the squirrels? Have tried to solder onto polypipe - it works a bit and you don't need any solder, the pipe melts onto the fitting. Probably best do this only for a gas line as the presure is lower.

    underfloor squirrels.

Met a pest control bloke today who reckoned that squirrels gnaw through Polypipe / Hep etc. Is this something that we in the plumbing industry should be worried about?

Stainless Steel Cylinder Scrap Metal Value.

Would anyone kindly tell me if they know what is the scrap metal value (relative to copper) of a stainless steel unvented cylinder (Megaflo)? Want to take it to the tip this weekend but maybe it has some value?

Do I need a new expansion vessel?

I said the Schraeder valve, not the flexi. If water comes out of where the air charge goes in, then the diaphragm / bladder has a hole.

If there is water coming out of the Schroeder valve, then the expansion vessel is £ucked.

Pressure Build Up - G3 ticket?

How about if I knock up a new reactor core, then you can just fit the fuel, adjust the rods and commission it? Can you do it on a daily rate? Or just sign off the whole thing for a weasel?

Pressure Build Up - G3 ticket?

Had a problem with my cooling system in reactor number 3 this morning - had to operate the PRV and let out some steam. Put a lighter to it to see if it was hydrogen but this caused a huge explosion demolishing the entire building. I am told, however, the reactor core is intact and there is no...

    Shower Temperature

When you replace the shower valve cartridge it must be calibrated - the calibration is the relative position of the knob on the spindle.

    Unvented tank brands

And you still have to fit an external expansion vessel when the cylinder starts to lose it's air charge once a month. Mine does, and I've heard of others that do too. Megaflo recommend an external vessel to be added on in this case!

    Mystery Object - AAV?

Most modern boilers are fitted to a sealed system to the PRV is vital. On an open vented it is not so important, UNLESS the pipe(s) connecting to the Feed & Expansion tank are blocked. Does anyone know what would blow first if there was no PRV and the above pipes were blocked??

    bed legs!!!!!

No he won't, because he's dead. Don't call people a prat - even though he may have been shown to be an aggressor by wielding the chair leg, the police must have been extremely trigger happy and paranoid to have reacted with gunfire. Killing the man is obviously an out of proportion reaction...

    boiler instalation

You would never know, but if it fell of the wall, then there would be an RGI responsible for the aftermath, & insurance etc, if it was fitted by the person who signs it off.
