Current distance between gas hob and extractor?

That's my backup if he persists. It's not quite as simple as that though as there's a waste pipe and service pipes (HW, CH) boxed into the corner and a window on the side close to that, so I can't just box around the waste pipe boxing. I'd have to think inside the box with some type of 3d...

Current distance between gas hob and extractor?

I haven't refurbished the roof though nor is there any means to get over to the soil pipe venting to the roof or boxing in an area in the bedroom directly above where the extractor pipe would go vertically. Retrospectively applying new-build rules to existing design is of course problematic.

Current distance between gas hob and extractor?

I've got a crappo extractor with no instructions but I've gone for 750mm to play it safe. If it sounds like I don't have much love for the BCO, he commented because I was doing major works at the same time as fitting a new kitchen I'd have to have a vent outside. I asked him how this is...

Larger cupboard. I'll play it safe he's a proper council worker!

Current distance between gas hob and extractor?

Reading mixed things and since Mr. Building Control is out for other things he'll no doubt be looking. Can I get away with 650mm?

    Curious question on foundation/fill method

I've added the door which is why it's a cavity wall.

    Curious question on foundation/fill method

And the cavity would be filled with wood up to the level of the brick, then later removed? I may have it wrong but the inner masonry doesn't look like concrete block. That would make more sense though to lay an inner course and fill that with concrete rather then faffing with wood. Guessing!

Anyone tiled a kitchen surface and not regretted it?

Not this big, plenty of 600x300's on walls though. On to nice flat ply won't be hard. I didn't think porcelain would stain, not like wood will anyway? The grout yes, but a dark grout less so. Epoxy grout, I was thinking more if a tile does get cracked and it needs cutting out. These are ones I...

Anyone tiled a kitchen surface and not regretted it?

The thing with epoxy is you can't repair it, won't a dark grey grout look decent after a lot of usage? It does on my bathroom floor (not that I urinate on it mind). If I go with beech I need 3 joins as 4M lengths are hard to come by. These large 1200mm tiles aren't much more, perhaps 5 or 6.

    Curious question on foundation/fill method

Putting in a garage step and it's allowed me to see the concrete fill. Having no experience with foundations I'm curious: a) what the process is here, does the inner get filled with rubble/dirt level to the blocks, sheet down, wood of height equal to two bricks placed on the outer bricks and...

Anyone tiled a kitchen surface and not regretted it?

I've got a month before the kitchen arrives to choose my poison. I do think wood is the wrong material for the job at least around the sink where water will always splash out to the back. Silicone it all I can it'll still sit on the wood and absorb eventually and there's plenty of people...

    Howdens vs DIY-Kitchens.com - Quality

I'm very much expecting to have this problem as no wall in my house is straight, not by a long shot. The long side of the L is 4.5M. It's why I've been considering tiling the worktop rather than beech. Having not fitted a kitchen before I'll be learning as I go. I think the service void is a...

Anyone tiled a kitchen surface and not regretted it?

I was thinking big floor tiles, 600 x 300 to minimise the grout. Going backwards and forwards on whether it's a good idea over beech.

The plonkers that built my house in the 80's decided for no other reason then they could to build the kitchen wall less then the standard kitchen depth. Here's a picture from dit-kitchens 3d planner. As I've squeezed the space as much as I can there's 2-5mm between the end and the silly wall. I...

They've come back, I can get 1ltr for £40 exc, but either pickup or a courier but it has to be a precise time and couriers won't do that. Something to sort later on, so I've ordered.

Anyone tiled a kitchen surface and not regretted it?

I'm in the process of choosing a kitchen surface and thinking why not porcelain tiles on plywood? As I see it there are no drawbacks other than time. 1. totally waterproof 2. tough 3. tiles can be replaced if it comes to that with a mini grinder to cut them out 4. cheap, somewhere between...

    Howdens vs DIY-Kitchens.com - Quality

Devil might be in the detail. So I need a small end panel made from 2.5mm mdf (diy-kitchen end panels are 18mm). I enquired about paint and have been told... You get 50ml touch up paint, that's it. No further paint can be ordered. The paint doesn't use RAL codes so having more to match would...

I don't think the doors i was looking at were as they had 2mm abs edging. When I choose one which does say it's painted the difference is only £300 + vat. I think you forgot moisture bulging?
