I'm about to fit a new roof window in my internal bathroom. I have to remove the central light fitting to make room for the new window. I assume it is best to put spot lights around the room as per the drawing, or is there any better ideas for lighting the room? Where is the best place...

Thanks chaps for your replies. Getting a whole new sash made up? That sounds expensive and a lot of trouble. The window frame is in good condition throughout it's just that bottom corner, couldn't I just get someone to replace that bottom rail? The rotten area is hard to touch if that...

I've got a couple of sash windows that need a good rub down and re-painting. In just one area (bottom right of the frame) you can see it's rotten. Can anyone tell me please, where do I start with this? Many thanks.
