It WAS for night storage. No radiators fitted any longer. It is now just part of the system, fused accordingly.

    Replacing 2 x consumer units

Hi, I am looking to changing 2 consumer units. I currently have an 8-way and a 4-way Wylex fused consumer units. All 12 fuses are used. These are supplied through a standalone 30mA RCD. I would like some spare capacity so 14-way or 16-way would be good. Any suggestions or manufacturer...

Low profile shower tray and pipe depth and fall

Thanks, but was going to have an elbow with access point as it exits the wall, then discharging into a gulley, space permitting.

Low profile shower tray and pipe depth and fall

I am looking to install a low profile shower tray onto an existing concrete downstairs floor. I understand that the trap will be 'in the ground' and that the waste will need to be chased into the floor. Just looking to understand what might be typical requirements as the final exit point...

    Securing downpipe

My problem, which I hadn't explained, is that I have a vertical pipe secured with clips but at ground level it goes into a square 4" hopper sat in the 4" storm drain. So at the bottom it is just plain pipe with no shoe or anything leaving the pipe able to slip downwards further into the drain...

    Securing downpipe

Hi, Is there a preferred method for fixing downpipe to help stop it from slipping downwards. I, personally, have never been over impressed by the normal saddle clamps. Thanks

    Identify problematic mixer tap please

It looks very similar to one of these http://www.screwfix.com/p/pegler-prestex-p402-15mm-tmv/96288 I don't know what the bath tap is and how it is plumbed without asking or visiting. Plumber said one of these had to be fitted to stop the bath being run at too high a temperature.

    Identify problematic mixer tap please

We've moved on a bit. A plumber from the original installers has taken a look and believes the problem is due to the thermostatic safety valve located under the bath. andytw

    False alarms, air freshener

Hi, I have had a couple of false alarms in a room that was totally closed. Not had false alarms in there before. Just noticed there is a free standing battery powered air freshener in there. I would not have thought the fine mist would be the problem but just asking if anyone has had any issues...

    Identify problematic mixer tap please

Here is an image of the cylinder. I presume that as there is no cold water storage then all cold water outlets are fed directly from the mains ? I understand re unvented cylinders so won't be touching it but if its the taps then.... Presumably if they print their name on a tap then it is a...

    Identify problematic mixer tap please

Whoops. I hadn't seen the writing on the tap or visited. I just asked for some pictures. I am pretty sure it is an unvented cylinder. I'll get another picture then we'll know for sure. The house is a new build about 2 years old. andytw

    Identify problematic mixer tap please

Hi, Couple of questions. Firstly can someone identify the brand of mixer tap in the pictures please. Secondly has anyone had experience of selecting cold water but getting hot water instead. The water does eventually run cold. This is a new problem affecting 2 mixer taps in my son's house...
