    pump overrun or loft tanks

Bungalow- Getting quotes for all new CH. Got it down to W 32CDi or Baxi Eco Blue due to smaller physical size. As past posts have said Pump over run can be noisy (Last place had Ideal logic, never again). So am I right in thinking put up with pump overrun or have tanks in loft?

Sorry my question can be read both ways. What I meant was having walls skimmed but changing metal boxes first so should i leave them flush or protude by? to allow for skim - thanks

how close CU to Gas meter

Cut out + meter same 500mm but under CU . Recently had new meter (with built in isolator) which is now less than 500mm as we had it put to side of cut out. Agree not ideal in kitchen unit but nowhere else for it go.

how close CU to Gas meter

I know what you say but when bungalow was built (60's) there is only 500mm centre to centre between them although that is horizontal. Most have them in same unit but a tall one with circa 750mm from top to bottom of other.

    Split Load or not

one builder wanted to replace with same style but more ways. Then when other quote mentioned split load i started to wonder if you must have split load hence my question

    Split Load or not

I did say "Ideally we want CU fixed up so we can carry on in what is a seperate room but it might be a lot more cost effective to have it all done in one go after getting my own quotes in rather than builder's mates Good luck with your quotes Read more...

    Split Load or not

Incorrect: i asked if 350 was being mean. The issue we have is getting some kind of consistanty in various trades. The same job quote can vary easily by 50% . So is the bottom end too cheap as most often you get what you pay for or is the top end a rip off?

    Split Load or not

Hi sorry for confusion. My guess estimate: Materials: C/U + tails + E bond to both G/W less than 2 mtrs away + odds = circa £ 100 plus 250 labour =£350. £600 is for CU 10 way. Once decided what sockets etc go where will be further costs - cable runs protection devices etc. Ideally we want CU...
