How should I repair boards over these pipes?

So is it better to use foam than plasterboard adhesive in this case? Also , do I have to protect the pipes in any way or do I just foam around them?

Is this retaining wall going to collapse soon?

I have a 1.6m high retaining wall , 4m across, at the end of my garden, made of 2.6m x 125mm x 250mm sleepers which may be pressure treated or reclaimed , wedged into steel I-beams. They are layed directly onto the soil and soil and rubble behind the wall is directly in contact with it, no...

Is OK to have this junction box on the floor?

I just looked under my cooker and the installers left a junction box to what I assume is the cooler lying on the concrete floor. Is this safe? It says 30amp 3 terminal on it.

How should I repair boards over these pipes?

I just had a couple of radiators moved and pipework chased into the block a bit. A section of the dot and dabbed plasterboard has been removed. I’m not sure how to go about repairing this - I was thinking, wrap the pipes in something and then dot and dab over the whole area with as few pieces...

How to add quadrant to this stringer?

Yeah i foamed the entire stringer down the crack before easifilling and I haven't even caulked it yet and it hasnt cracked after 12 months. Foam seems to hold things well, like door frames, stringers. I havent tried any other fillers except toupret but i just stuck to easifill because its cheap...

How to add quadrant to this stringer?

No, I’m putting a quadrant on the square edged stringer, to smarten it up and hide any cracks and on the wider bit to hide a 20mm wide section of easifill/foam

How to add quadrant to this stringer?

There are actually two curved sections (its a double winder staircase) , one is 25mm wide and one is 38mm. The rest of the stringer is all 18mm

How to add quadrant to this stringer?

That would mean three straight sections and lots of mitres. I was thinking a curve might look better. Im not sure what will look best tbh which is why I’m asking!

How to add quadrant to this stringer?

I was going to use a rip cut of a bullnose architrave because the stringer is about 30mm wide on that section. The rest is 18mm. Maybe I can bend another bit of wood next a wood quandrant. If I bend wood(or mdf) to fit this section, there will be gaps between the quadrant and the stringer...

Is it worth moving pipework to fit mag filter on return?

Thinking about it, I havent really used the radiators much at all the last year or 2, due to renovations, so i’ve mainly used the UFH. So yeah, the system water will have been relatively cool alot of the time , or at least not circulating the rads much. Maybe thats why bacteria built up. But Ive...

Is it worth moving pipework to fit mag filter on return?

Do you mean the underfloor pipes? My boiler is already set to 65 or 70 . If I raise the temperature of the UFH using the mixer valve, the floor will get too hot for the LVT flooring which is supposed to stay 27c or below.

Is it worth moving pipework to fit mag filter on return?

I’m wondering if part of the problem is the underfloor heating which was reinstalled a couple of years ago - there has been some build up of bacterial sludge in the past although I put biocide in recently. The sludge in the heat exchange definitely looked black though…

What kind of filter do I need with underfloor heating?

So I have a combi boiler and two zones, one is underfloor heating and the other goes around 9 radiators. There has been alot of black sludge blocking the heat exchanger the last few years. I am planning to get a filter on the system and I was recommended the Magnaclean Pro 2. However I dont...

Is it worth moving pipework to fit mag filter on return?

There is inhibitor in the system. i’m not sure what you mean by cleaning it, but the CH has been drained down within the last year. The heat exchangehas been getting clogged with black gunk which makes the temperature of the hot water fluctuate which is not great if you're having a shower. 2...

Is it worth moving pipework to fit mag filter on return?

I have a combi boiler that has no mag filter and the heat exchanger is getting full of crap from the system, which is costing me money (about £130) to get cleaned every year. I had a couple of plumbers round, one said he could fit mag filter for £300, which I assume would be on the flow, since...

Is it Ok to put a raised sleeper bed here?

I’m thinking of making a sleeper bed in this space in front of the window, on a paved driveway. There is an ACO drain around the perimeter and I would put the bed within that (not on top), and line it with geotextile so soil doesnt wash out. There is a basement below the window. Could this cause...
