    Small ramp on path

I have a patio that sits 4cm above an existing concrete path 90cm wide. This is a trip hazard and want to blend in the patio to the path by constructing a concrete ramp. How long should this be to safely blend in the height difference? Also how do I prevent the ramp falling apart? What mix...

    Help Cracked shower tray

Ground floor, suspended timber floor. Pictures attached, 2.5m span 18mm osb From what I recall, full mortar bed, it was placed on it and squashed till the falls etc were right, obviously cannot tell if edges were supported by mortar, but having said that I don’t step at the edges as that edge...

Thanks, I was thinking of doing this, but was afraid as the tray is 40mm thick and cracking?? Behind this tray, to the front of it and to the sides are 6mm floor tiles and they haven’t cracked??? I will check the crack to see if it widens or contracts on loading- excellent point thanks

    The best solution for this?

Hi, there is another prv upstream! Thanks. This is all done now. Thanks for everyone’s help. The only annoying thing is the pressure gauge faces 90degrees from view and no way to adjust it! Washer? Don’t know best way to get it face the correct way.

    The best solution for this?

Thanks, the draw off feeds the drinking water tap and garden tap only. The whole 22mm softened water runs to the loft where the installer who did the work has fitted a PRV and then split the water into cold softened run and to boiler/unvented all capped to 3bar. These two then feed the entire...

    The best solution for this?

Basically we have too high a water pressure 4-5 bar daytime and need to get a pressure reducer fitted inline before the water softener. I want to fit this on the leg after the 22mm ball valve going into the softener as this is the least disruptive and does the job. One of these...

    Hot Tubs or Japanese Tub

Thanks, I was thinking of running a conventional waste to a sump made of a 110 soil pipe, capped and deeper than the tub, then lower a submersible pump to pump it out to the foul drain. Just wondering if anyone else has done this before.

    Hot Tubs or Japanese Tub

Thanks for the reply, I wanted to create one below the deck surface, so it is hidden from view and opens out only when you need it. Instead of a normal hot tub, I was thinking of getting a japanese tub (Orfu) style - lots of wood fired ones available, but I was planning to run it off my gas...

    Hot Tubs or Japanese Tub

I have been trying to redesign our small garden, L shaped, with 9m on the longest length and 6m on the shortest width. We have about a 30cm drop to the patio/ground level from our patio doors. So got me thinking of running a decking of sorts below the 30cm planning limit and having a hot tub...
