Nest Thermostat Gen 3 Dual Zone Install

I need to do exactly this and I’m not sure how there is a misunderstanding. I included a link to a thread where someone had done this install.

Nest Thermostat Gen 3 Dual Zone Install

Thank you Ian. This is very helpful. As above though I presume I remove the stat A&B from the wiring centre to wire into the heat link. Will the display be powered from this though? Thank you

Nest Thermostat Gen 3 Dual Zone Install

Thank you. I still have a spare core/cable (grey one unissued behind the stat and inside the wiring centre). Please let me know what I’d need to do as I need to power them from that cable. Thank you

Nest Thermostat Gen 3 Dual Zone Install

Very helpful thank you. So I’m clear I take out the two stat wires on the wiring centre and wire to the 2&3 on the heat link? Wire the nest display in and job done. I was concerned my existing wiring a&b didn’t power the stat. I presume the nest will be powered from those? Many thanks

Nest Thermostat Gen 3 Dual Zone Install

HL = heat link The thread I have been referring to is here - https://www.diynot.com/diy/threads/nest-thermostat-gen-3-dual-zone-install.601653/ is where the link was indicated as necessary. Your suggestion sounds far more straightforward. But, do the valves not need to be connected to the heat...

Nest Thermostat Gen 3 Dual Zone Install

I have a Logic ESP1 35 Combi Boiler and 2 Honeywell T3 thermostats (T3H110A). I wish to install 3rd gen nest and have purchased two. I have read a lot on these forums of other installs. From what I can see I need: 1. To run a L&N from the wiring centre to the HL 2. Put a jumper cable from L to 2...

    Wiring ceiling fan and lights

Thanks for the helpful replies. I decided to stick with the existing remote system. As I’ve converted to LED there will be no issue with the load on the remote. I therefore re-wired with a 4 core cable such that the on/off for the lighting at the remote sends current or otherwise to the light in...

    Wiring ceiling fan and lights

I have a remote control ceiling fan with inbuilt light. There was a basic ceiling rose with a single connection to the light switch. The fan replaced that. The light wasn’t bright enough so I installed some down lights as well, running from the same feed and switch. I realise now that I can’t...

    Intermediate switch

I am not actually sure I think I may have got confused with the in and out marking on the new switch. In any event basically swapping over what I had already, as was pictured above, worked fine

Nest 3rd Generation - Standard and Professional

Hi I have inadvertently purchased two different types of Nest - one ‘standard’ and one professional. I have a split system so will need to fit two. I cannot work out what the differences between there are but primarily whether there would be any issue in installing two the two different types...

Pyronix Euro 46 and twin alert sounder

Thank you very much. I may be being stupid but I can’t see a -12v aux on the board I’ve just got the Aux + which was part of my confusion. Many thanks indeed

Pyronix Euro 46 and twin alert sounder

Please may someone very kindly assist me with the wiring of the twin alert directly into the alarm board. The instructions for both are less than clear and the twin alert guide doesn’t correspond with the connections in the main board. Many thanks indeed

Nest Thermostat Gen 3 - Dual Zone Install

Please may I very kindly ask a question. I have the same boiler and have saved this thread to install my system. But, I somehow have bought one 3rd gen nest learning thermostat and one 3rd gen pro. I’m still not sure I fully understand the difference but I wondered please which one you used for...
