    Spur

Sorry. The socket appears to be in a ring - wire in and wire out. But I don’t know I would take a spur from the socket to a fused timer for the towel rail. Then take a spur from that fused timer to the loft. My reading was you could spur more than once if there was an FCU - which I think my...

    Spur

I asked an earlier question about power to my loft. I have found a way of getting a cable from a socket to spur into the loft. I need to fit a towel rail which has a fused timer - I think this amounts to a FCU. If that’s the case it seems to me I can run a cable from the socket to the towel rail...

Loft light and sockets - spur?

Thank you for the kind replies. The problem with running a cable up is there isn’t anywhere to hide it and I would have to go through a stud wall ie a lot of damage. If I was to go this path I could check the current drain of each transformer and presumably put an rcd socket in on top of the...

Loft light and sockets - spur?

Loft light and sockets - spur?

I have a led loft light and twin socket for use with low voltage transformers to install in my loft. I can only find a 6 amp lighting circuit I can spur into. That circuit has an extractor fan on it and also a shaver socket where they have actually installed two feeds. I am hesitant about...

Fantasia fan light only dims but won't turn off

Good evening Please forgive reviving this thread but it seemed sensible. I have three of the Fantasia Viper fans. The OP refers to G4 but they are G9. As far as I understand it, the early Viper’s had the E11 bulb, this was later changed to two G9 fittings and then the LED array came in Viper...

Electric Towel Radiator Timer also Extractor Fan problem

Hi, Thank you very much for the above. The fan looks excellent and seems to me to be the cheapest and best way of solving that problem. With regard to the timer is it going to be ok to use that in the bathroom? Thank you Matthew

Electric Towel Radiator Timer also Extractor Fan problem

Hi, I purchased a ground floor flat in August 2008 which was built in 2004. I have a domestic electrical installation certificate. In each of the two bathrooms there is an electric towel radiator with a 150w element on, I believe, a switched spur underneath each radiator. There is also...
