Clarification on cables in block and partition walls

I have done some more searching and come up with this:- http://www.niceic.org.uk/downloads/Pocket%20Guide%206.pdf From my understanding of this, I do not need to fit any type of capping or mechanical protection as long as I run within the permitted zones, even if the cable is less than...

    Cooker/Hob connection advise

Sorry, I didn't make myself very clear  I will supply a new 32A cable from the new board for the oven. The new hob is in almost the same position as the old oven/hob but the wall is being removed so it is now a peninsular out from the wall. Can I extend the existing 6mm cable via...

    Kitchen lighting suggestions

Looking around the most common modern solution seems to be either a number of spotlights mounted on a curved rail or flush mounted spots. Can anyone advise on the benefits of mains vs low voltage spots?

Kitchen isolation switches for appliances & FCU's

I am aware of Part P requirements, the whole extension plan is being submitted to Building Control including changing of windows and electrics. BCO is happy for me to get an Electrician to check and test once completed, all he is bothered about is a certificate (I could push and tell them...

    Kitchen lighting suggestions

    DIY TRV installation

Currently all of our upstairs radiators are off apart form the bathroom. This is normal for us all year round because we don't like the bedrooms hot to sleep in. Almost seems a shame to install TRV's!

Anyone tried the new range of IQ-Group Darkskies lights?

I presume it's similar to the one on the screwfix link I posted above? Are you happy with it as a solution? Does it save money?

Anyone tried the new range of IQ-Group Darkskies lights?

These seems to have taken this a step further by using the same bulb, I presume with a lower voltage or restricted current of some kind. Just wondering if anyone has tried them or if it is correct to assume they will be cheap to run on dawn til dusk.
