Is there something dodgy about this copper tube?

I'm looking to buy some 22mm copper pipe and came across this. http://www.plumbplanet.com/product/508261 The price sounds too good to be true so there must be some catch? Also, how are they going to deliver a single 6M length of pipe?? They also have this...

    pipes hard up against floorboards

I would but the pipe doesn't run close to the joist - parallel but in between them.

    pipes hard up against floorboards

Its hard to see without taking a lot more floorboards up but couldn't it be a combination of where the pipe enters the room under the wall and also where the pipes connect to the rad tails ?

    pipes hard up against floorboards

Thanks but the pipes run parallel to the joists so there is no notch in the joist to cut! They run parallel and hard up against the underside of the floorboards.

    Leak

If a TRV has settings something like 5,4,3,2,1,"frost",0 then doesn't 0 mean zero? (so no dec cap required?)

    pipes hard up against floorboards

Hi I wonder if anyone can help with this? In a bedroom in our house a persistent clicking noise can heard. It lasts for at least 30-60 minutes after turning off the heating system. So I lifted a floorboard and was almost lucky not to have cut a pipe with my circular saw due to the pipe the...

    Fitting new door

Thanks for the replies. Unfortunately, I didn't get them before starting work again but actually I did something similar to what was suggested. In the end I took 10mm of the bottom with a circular saw. This was easy because it was a parallel cut so the circular saw guide helped. The top I...

    Fitting new door

Hi I'm trying for the first time to fit a cheap interior door into an existing frame. I wonder if someone could help me out answering a couple of questions I have? The first is, I need to reduce the height of this moulded (and I think "flush") door by about 18-20mm. So 9 or 10 top and...

pipe from airing cupboard capped off in loft

Thanks but any idea how I can clean out the 28mm pipe from the 15mm opening that is about a foot (or more?) higher up? I guess any sludge I do remove would go further into the pipework?

pipe from airing cupboard capped off in loft

Many thanks for the replies. I've investigated further and found that the magnet sticks to the pipe just _below_ the tee. In the picture the tee referred to is just above where the magnet is and the 15mm pipe comes in from the loft just above that. It would seem like the 28mm pipe below the tee...

pipe from airing cupboard capped off in loft

Hi Firstly thanks again for help in previous posts. This board is really great for folk like me. Our CH system is I think a fairly standard S plan system with FE tank in the loft and HW, 2 MVs in the airing cupboard below. The FE has a 22m expansion pipe which rises up over the FE tank and...

    Shower pump advice sought

Thanks for the replies. Still not sure why unvented is better than a good shower pump or even a thermal store?

    Shower pump advice sought

Hi We're thinking of installing a shower pump for a new bathroom and I have some questions. Our house has a standard vented system with large open cold tank in loft and hw cylinder in airinb cupboard. The tanks are around 30-40 years old. The mains pressure is very high here and for that...

Do I need to redo pipework? Lots of elbows

HI After changing leaking pump valves some weeks ago I had to rejig the pipe work a bit in the airing cupboard next to the hot water tank, pump and valves. I'm a bit worried that the flow into the HW tank now passes through no less than 3 elbows in a tight loop of 22m pipework (just below...

Pitched Roof Leaking Help do we need a new roof?

I'll check the top of the lead for sagging at the weekend. I did some searches but still not completely clear what the collar does. Is it to protect where the base of the stack meets the roof as in the attached pic (not from my house) ? But in my case, the lead sheath around the stack looks...
