    Replacing boiler with an Ideal

Thanks, here is some more info. I currently have a Glow Worm Flexicom 24hx condensing boiler (13 years old) on the ground floor and a water tank and vented expansion tank in the loft. My home is a detached chalet style bungalow, ground floor and first floor with a small loft area above. It...

    Replacing boiler with an Ideal

Hi Does anyone have any experience of the Ideal Logic Max Heat or the Ideal Logic+ Heat boilers. My plumber says he fits Ideal and needs to be a Heat only one due to less pipe work changes needed ? Any advice appreciated, thanks.

    Boiler size - please advise

Hi. I’m sorry you feel that way. I was only asking what make of boiler he would recommend. “Personally I'd be more concerned with the boiler choice. That's not the best boiler for decent controls.” Thank you for your suggestion of a Vogue boiler. No problem will bear in mind for future posts.

    Boiler size - please advise

Hi Razor900. I’m also thinking of getting an Ideal boiler. Which particular boiler would you recommend. I’m looking at a heat only boiler, changing from a vented to an invented system. The plumber said there would be fewer pipe work changes around the house (walls, floors etc).

Replacing boiler from a vented to a sealed system.

Hi, Madrab, Thanks for the info I will get him to check the dynamic pressure and pressure test. Do you know what the range should be for it to be suitable for an unvented system and what the range for the pressure test might be ?

Replacing boiler from a vented to a sealed system.

Ok thanks, I think the system was not balanced as I had previously tried to change the balance on some radiators. Perhaps the 24kw model (same as my existing one) might be more suitable, assuming it will be more efficient. I will ask the plumber when he next visits. He is not available to fit...

Earth bonding to water & gas pipes

Thanks, that’s a good idea. Would I just try and follow the pipes to see if the hallway pipe is the same as the kitchen one or is there some way of using a electric meter on the hallway and seeing if it’s shows on the kitchen pipe ?

Earth bonding to water & gas pipes

Hi. It’s about 10 feet away. The gas meter is in the hall near the front door. I don’t know if it’s the same pipe as the stop cock. It’s nearer the front door where the water supply probably enters the house, I can’t see it though. I have wood floors everywhere on top of the existing floor...

Earth bonding to water & gas pipes

Hi I have metal gas and water pipes with an Earth bonding cable going from my consumer unit to my copper gas pipe near the gas meter. The same Earth wire comes off the gas pipe to my copper water pipe. My water stop cock in the kitchen does not have any earth bonding cable. It looks difficult...

    Burying EV cable underground

I’m making preparations for burying an electric vehicle charger cable to be installed by British Gas. I’m digging the hole 450mm deep and have been told to put 150mm of sand covering the ducting. I’m preparing it as per BG instructions and taking photos. my question is what type of sand to...
