Have to retile bathroom - Aquapanel? Tanking?

Hi there, It might be a good idea to add some photos of the room/damage. If tiles have come off and damp in there the background plaster/plasterboard may have been affected. If some tiles have come loose its something that could be assumed that others are also loose or will come loose...

    Plumbing quote ....questionable????

Ah, what I said was I was after quotes for gas central heating (Full central heating system installed), I didn't mention anything else except electrics and windows. I know I'm not a full time/qualified etc and I know a lot better than to play with Gas and certain things :) I've 100% plumbed...

Already thanked :) And I've just recently fitted our bathroom, so completely understand when something crops up and you need a non standard fitting to achieve the best result.

    Plumbing quote ....questionable????

That's besides the point? The other thread you went out of your way to comment on, was passing on info I heard. Of which both plumbers between them have about 70+ years experience... This one I could see no one was offering any help what so ever. Also I wasn't specifically offering advice on...

Please show me what part is ****e, but Pm it if you like to not clog up a thread. And I'm not worried by that thanks forum widget really. Chap in another thread seems happy I've tried to help him out of a problem situation, no one else was really helping.. Anyone in the threads I've commented...

Excuse me who the hell do you think you are? It was around an hour each for a site walk and sure it wasn't "FREE" time, it was their time. I didn't know what they were going to quote until I had the quote hence getting the quotes... I got 3 for plumbing because I was happy with the ones I...

    Plumbing quote ....questionable????

Now now everyone be nice.... You shouldn't just slate people. People may have difficulty spelling/or things like dyslexia etc. Comments like that doesn't help anyone. You clicked to come to the thread, you didn't have to, yet you felt compelled to slate someone on their spelling/grammar...

    Plumbing quote ....questionable????

Humm, unsure, even like for like with new copper could take time to do all the fitting etc.. Sure on the ceilings down. In the empty house, surly they will still have to re-do all that, lifting floor boards etc, And sure on the re-fit sanitary. Still seems like a fair amount of work to do...

    Plumbing quote ....questionable????

Also sorting out 3 rooms - bathroom, en-suite, utility etc, will take a fair amount of time. I think you are massively under estimating the time. On ours which is a smaller system by a long way... was 6 working days. You have multiple rooms, extra radiators and pipework, log burners, heat...

    Plumbing quote ....questionable????

We had a Full central heating system installed (with no ceilings up for easier access for pipe work last august. Vaillant 837, Stelrads with about 9-10 radiators inc chrome towel rail. All old pipe work was replaced from the house stop tap onwards. LOTS of copper used for our system, combimate...

Why one radiator needs bleeding a lot?

Our plumbers when installing a full system for us, told me when we were looking at towel rails to avoid the cheap ones. I cant remember the materials but apparently some cheaper ones use ally inside and chrome plate, or another material. He said the better ones are Brass then Chrome plated. Also...

Intsalling heavy tiles in victorian bathroom

Unsure on point 1 (will think - just quickly replying at work), point 2 - How strong is that timber on top on the bricks? Angle bracket the frame to that then just have a small triangle as the plasterboard butts up to the ceiling? then Scrim the joint (for assumed ceiling plastering)?

Intsalling heavy tiles in victorian bathroom

Yea good call on checking weight limit and if it can take it the extra fixings. I would guess you would be looking at approx. 38.6kg psqm on the metal work. (approx. 25kg tiles, 5kg adhesive and grout, 8.68kg for standard plasterboard per sqm 12.5mm (not sure if the one you are using is...

    Rad stability

Best thing I can think of Is make sure the Rad is on the top pair and the bottom pair of plastic hangers on the metal wall brackets. Then (awkward) but get under the rad and then see if there is any way to attach a number of cable ties to any extra holes in the wall bracket. If you have means...
