How to adjust height ceiling/pendant light

Hello all, a quick query that I haven't found elsewhere (probably because it's so obvious). I've just had a ceiling/rise and fall pendant light installed but I wasn't at home at the time so I didn't know at what height it was done. Can someone please explain how I adjust the height of the cord...

max wattage for 60w ceiling light

Hello all, seen similar posts elsewhere but not quite the same so thought I'd ask it. I've bought a ceiling pendant light which requires a max 60w e27 bulb. Unsurprisingly, this isn't bright enough. Can anyone suggest what the highest rated low energy bulb equivalent that I could use is (bearing...

Hello all, seems some other people have had similar problems but not quite the same. Boiler was working fine (it's just on hot water setting) and we had some building work done in and around the boiler room and now a problem, prob not a coincidence! When I switch the boiler on I can see it...

Help required! DSC/British Gas alarm trouble problem

oh, ok, gotcha. The *4 thing - looked it up in the manual and it said that resets the keypad (but doesn't actually say what that means). Apparently, I should also be in test mode when I replace the batteries.......which is a problem, because the master code to get into test mode and I don't have...

Help required! DSC/British Gas alarm trouble problem

Thanks ipalarms, sounds like a sensible suggestion! When you say reset the keypad, do you just mean press * and then hold down 4 for a few seconds? What does this actually do? Do I also need to reset the clock every time or is it enough to just reset the keypad, check for trouble and then...

Help required! DSC/British Gas alarm trouble problem

Hello all. I’ve got a British Gas alarm system with a DSC keypad (PK5500 model). The trouble light has recently come on, and it says Device Low Battery. I take this to mean 1 or more wireless sensors have low battery, rather than the main 12V 7ah rechargeable battery. Is that right? It says...

Sink draining issues - bit confusing.

ok, well I ran a snake down (I could only get hold of a 1.8m, pretty thin one from Wickes) and it went through comfortably so the blockage must be further on where I can't get to it. I'll have to get someone out. Thanks for all the help though, much appreciated.

Sink draining issues - bit confusing.

can't follow the flexi pipe but seems to disappear under the dishwasher so I suspect it's from there, yes.

Sink draining issues - bit confusing.

w/m as in washing machine? There's no washing machine in the kitchen, only the dishwasher. You mean the black pipe you can just see coming out of the floor?

Sink draining issues - bit confusing.

Think the snake might be the way forward. The flexible pipe is clear, so the blockage is further on. As you can see from the picture, I can't really access it. Presumably pouring the cleaner directly into the pipe at the bottom won't work, and the snake is by far the better option?

Sink draining issues - bit confusing.

I can try but I can only get as far as the flexible waste pipe as the pipework then disappears out of range. I'll try that and see what happens.
